When you only have about three friends, and the one you pick isn’t feeling well… but you already have your tickets, so you just go alone. I’m antisocial anyway — I can’t be around too many people.

But Big Picture Alliance is home turf. It’s where I wrote my first movie as a kid. I wasn’t going to miss this. by @ebonipoetry

Little cuz fun fact he was going be in the movie but life happened.. But this next movie you going be in for sure!!!!! by @ebonipoetry

Last night, Mecca (Mama in the movie) and family put on a showing for us. It was beautiful, and I really appreciate it. We had such a good time. I am so grateful for my cast family. ❤️

And I have to say: CCP had a big influence on my life. CCP had a big influence on the movie and the book, and it has inspired me so many times. #film #spokenword #producer by @ebonipoetry

I promise this is my last post for tonight, but I just want to say thank you to my sister — who came out, who made sure I was together, and who is so proud of me — and to my cousins, who are proud of me too.

I usually don’t ask for much. I usually don’t need much. But I really needed them. Sometimes you just need the ones you grew up with, the ones you love. So I love you guys, and thank you for being here. by @ebonipoetry

POV- when I tell my sis in law I already posted It’s the cutest thing when my sister curses me out in her little Jamaican voice. Honestly, I appreciate her more than she knows. So many of my wonderful connections come through her, and no matter what, she’s always here to support me — even if she has to do it all by herself. I will love her forever. She’s my sister beyond marrying into the family. @jadecouture66 by @ebonipoetry

Today was surreal. I just want to take a moment to thank everyone who came out — and a big thank you to the Community College of Philadelphia, Dr. Michelle Myers, and Professor Elizabeth Catanese, for giving me a platform and for allowing the students at the community college to study my book and film, *Some Real Sugar Honey Ice Tea*.

The moment was surreal, and there’s so much I could say — I’d be on here talking all day. Shout out to my cast: my director, Courtney Lyneé; Eternal Sincere, my colleague and actor; my best friend and supporting actor, Pearl Simpson; Mecca, who played Mama; and the whole cast who came out. I am beyond grateful for you all. and special thanks to my oldest son for making my dress.!! @liljasonn_444 by @ebonipoetry

A story worth telling. A moment worth sharing.

Our first glimpse from today's Some Real Sugar Honey Ice Tea: A Philly Jawn film screening, conversation, and book signing at the Community College of Philadelphia!

There's something special about seeing a story come to life on the big screen, but even more special about the conversations, connections, and community that storytelling brings together.

Today was about more than a film. It was about creativity, collaboration, and celebrating the stories we have to tell.

A heartfelt thank you to the Community College of Philadelphia for welcoming us, to our incredible cast and creative collaborators, and to everyone who joined us for this experience.

This is just the first look. We have so much more to share!
