Captures - Premiere in 360 Full Dome at the @digitaldreams_festival

After months of work we had the opportunity to present our last A/V project in collaboration @_owelle x @structurals_ in a full dome setup.

This project merges lidar archives of architectural & industrial monuments such as @voelklinger_huette , and creates a journey inside pointclouds at the fronteer of generative and real, transforming the scanned matter into organic geometries and shapes. Directly linked to the music & field recordings of @_owelle , the composition evolves in a 30min sequence.

We built this project in a fully procedural way, allowing us to present it in various formats (dome, 2D, 180, VR, etc) - in a live or exported sequence with virtual cameras.

Will be presented next at the @fog_festival in a 2D live version - 02.10.25
And then at @biennaleson in a 180 setup - 29.11.25

We’re very happy to announce the first dates where we will present our new project Captures!

We built an immersive A/V show that combines lidar scans, field recordings & generative architectures to create a journey between captured environnements and procedural worlds.
 05–07.09.25 @digitaldreams_festival Lausanne (Dome / 360 immersive)

 13–14.03.26 TBA (Cardiff, GB)

The project has been evolving for almost a year. It began with scans at Völklingen Ironworks and continued during a residency at Stereolux, where we developed a procedural system to adapt visuals to various immersive setups, with OSC connections linking sound and visual interactions in real time, linked in both ways. The premiere will take place this September at Digital Dreams Festival, our first show in a dome!

We spent a week in residency at @stereolux_scopitone working on our upcoming A/V performance Captures - a journey at the edge of reality and generative worlds, flying through LiDAR scans and procedural environments.

We refined our point cloud system to gradually deconstruct real spaces into procedural environements, in a slow digital metamorphosis.

On the sound side, we linked each space to a bank of field recordings, selected randomly to match the atmosphere. The scale of each environment also shapes the reverb and spatialisation, creating a live dialogue between sound and image. Everything runs between Max/MSP, @ableton and @touchdesigner in real time.

The system is designed to adapt to different types of spaces — from 2D screens to immersive formats like cylinders and domes.

Still a few months of work ahead before the premiere in October! 2025 tour dates coming in June.
