It tomorrow "WEAVING STORIES !"
#booklaunch #exhibition #ghana🇬🇭 by @efeagyeman

A year of weaving stories.

For the past year, Weaving Stories has lived across conversations, exhibitions, pages, hands, and places, often shared through PICHA.
Today, it has a space of its own.

The Weaving Stories book is not just a publication.
It is a collective act.

Each photographer — we call them weavers — contributes more than images.
They bring memory, place, authorship, and lived experience.
Together, these stories are woven into something that doesn’t aim to conclude, only to remain open.

This image by @efeagyeman of a young woman reading Weaving Stories feels like the right place to begin.
A moment of pause.
Of recognition.
Of seeing oneself reflected in a shared narrative.

Welcome to the Weaving Stories page, a home for the stories behind the stories.

The sight of cocoa brings a whole lot back.
The Poem - I have been a victim
"From the very cocoa farms
That Calloused
Her sweet soft palms"
The story of Inheritance
My first taste of the unprocessed fruit
After our trip to Kakum, we bought a couple.
I didnt know how to open it.
When you are child , you know nothing (say that in twi)
My grandmother opens the pod
My imagination of it being white on the inside, abnormal
Again a child
After eating the sweet part
She asks to gather the seed so she could dry it.
I wanted to plant it
Again a child
The climate wasn't suited for cocoa here
We lived along the coast
The wind tasted salty and water tables were high
The soil was loose and sunk your feet
Even cassava tasted boiled and made of glass.
The brown powder and thick spread on bread
The breakfast on the go
Cocoa.
