Our next pop up approaches, and just in time for the Feast of Saint Valentine! 💘 As we celebrate the love in our lives, let us congregate to celebrate our joint-love of everyone’s favorite modern classic cocktail- The Espresso Martini!

We are joining up with the local master of ‘spro, @eic_espresso to sling variations of the caffeine-laden libation at our favorite place to enjoy them in Athens, @nationalathens.

We are running from 9-12, so come through and start your buzz for a weekend filled with love. 💗 by @eic_espresso

New coffee week!
Happy to be featuring one of my fav roasters again, Methodical Coffee in Greenville, SC!
Qore Biloya is a blend of the indigenous varietals Kurume, Dega, and Wolisho that are harvested by over 300 small farmers in this tiny pocket of Kochere. In Kochere, a distinct subsection of Yirgacheffe, coffee trees are often scattered amongst other native plants and harvested by a single family before being brought, by foot, to the nearest washing station, in this case the Biloya washing station. Tarpon Trading, who have onwned the washing station since 2018 employ both men and women, offer loans and insurance to farmers, and are working to bring electricity to the area. Look for notes for white tea, peach and key lime. Been a minute since I’ve worked with a classic southern Ethiopian coffee!

First pop up back is tomorrow starting at 8 am at Creature Comforts! Got this Costa Rican SL 28 from Perc dialed in and it is 👌 by @eic_espresso

Very stoked to share this yellow honey processed SL-28 grown at Finca La Alquimia in Costa Rica and roasted by @perccoffee in Savannah! Lots to unpack with this coffee! If SL-28 sounds familiar that is because this cultivar was isolated by the British lab, Scott Laboratories, in the 1930’s and for decades this bourbon offspring was grown mainly in Kenya, but exclusively in Africa. However recently many forward thinking Latin American growers have begun experimenting with this exceptional plant which thrives in higher altitudes and delivers world renowned coffees. The two sisters in charge at Finca La Alquimia (~Alchemy Farms) grow their SL-28 trees at two locations (both less than an hour from the San Jose airport and about two hours from the UGA campus in Monteverde) and process them at their own versatile Cerro San Luis mill. This yellow honey-processed bean sees 50-75% of the fruit removed. It is then turned hourly on exposed raised beds to achieve a uniform fermentation until it reaches a low enough moisture level to be transferred to a greenhouse where it completes drying.

Scope Finca La Aquimia’s picturesque Naranjo farm in the second pic.

Such a quality coffee has a lot to offer and I can’t wait for y’all to try it! See y’all Friday! by @eic_espresso
