POSTS STORIES REELS

On August 30th I got the call that my best friend had been called to be with the Lord and my world fell apart, well yesterday at 2 in the morning we watched as our world went up in flames. My grandparents house had caught on fire and along with it everything we loved. I can never thank God enough for watching over my grandmama and allowing her to make it out safe. While my family is crushed , in Psalms 34:18 we read that God is close to the brokenhearted and in a time like this he’s all we can turn too and I know his plans are far greater than anything I could imagine. While losing all of my grandpapas things and everything my grandparents had it’s all just stuff and the memories we made in that home will last us a lifetime. My family can never thank the Greensboro and Hale Connty volunteer firefighters enough for rushing to help us. While this Christmas isn’t exactly how my family had pictured I thank the Lord we get to spend it together and I know my grandpapa is so happy to see his cat whiskers now and we miss him more than ever. Always remember that everything can be taken in a second so this holiday thank the Lord for those closest to you and hold them extra tight. by @ek.ferguson

It’s still unreal to me that 365 days, 8,760 hours, and 525,600 minutes has gone by without you. I remember a year ago today crying in my dorm room praying that it wasn’t true. That my best friend wasn’t really gone. This year has been everything but easy and I wish more than anything that you could be here for every moment and milestone. But getting to listen to all the stories people had to tell about you today, and hearing “Ella you always took after your grandpapa”, made it feel as if you were there. I had never met a man prouder that his granddaughter was “over there at Mississippi State”. I see you everyday in the little things and it reminds me of the same verse that brought me comfort a year ago, Psalms 34:18 as God truly is there with the broken hearted. As I decorated my dorm this year I knew a special corner would be yours, my Bible from graduation sits open with your favorite verse John 14:3 that you highlighted for me. That verse reads “and if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.” I know God was waiting for you at those golden gates a year ago and you’ve had a party in heaven ever since. While the days may be hard, I keep that promise that I will get to see you again one day. I love you more than words can explain and will miss you forever. I pinky promise to see you soon grandpapa🤍🤍🤍 by @ek.ferguson
