In honor of Earth Day 2026 🌎🌱

Our incredible ELAC College Corps volunteers took climate action by co-hosting an interactive Educational Day of Environmental Justice in partnership with our local community host partners and campus departments.

Together, we welcomed 200+ members of the ELAC community for a hands-on, interactive day focused on caring for our planet and learning practical ways to take climate action.

Activities included demos on endangered species, pollinator education, composting, native plant propagation, and exploring the importance of our food systems and their impact on our planet.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in taking action for a more sustainable future. Together, we make a BIG impact. 💚🌎

Last week @core_cal hosted a emergency response workshop for our fellows.

With their expertise and guidance our fellows gained trainings to better prepare for disaster emergencies and discussed ways we can support and serve ourselves our neighbors and our community during critical moments.

Together we assembled emergency backpacks filled with essential supplies to help them stay prepared in case of an emergency and created plans with @listoscalifornia

📚 It was great spending time with the leadership at East Los Angeles College, including the ELAC Foundation!

The @elachuskies & @elacfoundation has served our community for decades—supporting students and transforming lives through high quality, affordable, and accessible education. ELAC also provides critical resources to students like a basic needs pantry, Dreamer resources, and mental health services.

Last Friday, the @elacfoundation hosted its annual President’s Circle Luncheon, celebrating the 2025 President’s Circle Awards.

Congratulations to @californiavolunteers – College Corps leadership for receiving this honorary award! 💙🧡

Through their vision and dedication, @californiavolunteers has created real change—uplifting our most vulnerable communities and protecting our environment. Their ongoing leadership, compassion, and commitment have empowered our young leaders to serve California with purpose, expanding their impact well beyond their fellowships as they grow into the next generation of changemakers. 🌿✨

🏈 Friday Night Lights: Loved being with our beautiful Eastside communities at the 90th East L.A. Classic between the Garfield Bulldogs and Roosevelt Rough Riders featuring a special performance from @mustard!

Over 14,000 people came to cheer for their favorite team and celebrate a longtime tradition that brings out families, alumni, community members, and most importantly, our incredible students.
