The 90 minute immersive version of Bono: Stories of Surrender is officially live on Apple TV+ viewable exclusively through the Apple Vision Pro. Creative Director Elad Offer attended the premiere of the 2D version of the film at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival - which received outstanding reviews!

The immersive version is a new reimagining of the 2D film that elevates Bono’s story and is equally as incredible and impressive.

This is the FIRST feature length immersive film ever made and it is the first feature-length film in Apple Immersive Video, a 180-degree VR format, featuring both ultra high resolution and spatial audio, placing viewers on stage with Bono.

Offer worked closely with Apple to develop the technology to pull off this tremendous feat - because the technology didn’t exist previously.

Watch the Bono: Stories of Surrender (Immersive) on Apple TV+ now with the Apple Vision Pro.

Quite a few years ago I created an experimental interactive music video for a friend. At the time it looked like those might become a thing and I was excited to experiment with a new medium.

This video was made in Flash so when that disappeared I thought the whole project was lost for ever.

But then this week I had an idea - maybe Anthropic's Claude Code could reverse engineer it and make a modern interactive web versions of it. And to my surprise - IT DID!

I'm still pretty proud of it and I think it's fun to play with so if you're curious, check it out at eladoffer.com/Manda and I'd love to hear your thoughts. 10 points to whoever finds my old dog Nelson in the video!

It's a song by the amazing @mandamosher and produced by my good friend and amazing producer @idosassonmusic. by @lumos.pr

THIS IS NOT GOOD!

I mean, it's an OK video, and in many ways incredible for what the tech can do (and let me do). But so much about it just isn't good.

Let me explain. I ran an experiment and honestly expected it to fail badly. Years ago I created a movie and then an episodic TV script about Jed Davies (aka Jed Emperor), the first and only "Monster Whisperer" in a world where cute, furry monsters, think Monsters Inc, start popping up everywhere. I fed Claude all the scripts, had it ask me 100 questions to fill in the gaps, then had it write a podcast interview with Jed.

Reason #1 THIS IS BAD: The script was workable and funny'ish. It had the basics of Jed's personality and story, but just funny'ish. I tried to push it and direct Jed's responses, and it landed in an OK enough spot that I told myself it was pretty good. Alone at my desk, that was easy to believe.

Reason #2 THIS IS BAD: For Jed's character sheets, I told Gemini I wanted him to look kinda like Will Ferrell, but not exactly. Any mention of Will skews the model toward an exact likeness, and nothing I did undid it. That made it wayyyy too easy to say F$@# it, I'll just use Will's likeness. (If anybody knows Will Ferrell, please convey my deepest sorrows and ask him to please, please not sue me. I'm just making a point about these tools.)

Reason #3 THIS IS BAD: I had Claude turn the script into a shot list and Seedance 2.5 generate the clips. Getting past its initial refusal to generate Will Ferrell was super easy, and once it did, it attached his voice and a semblance of his acting style. I DID NOT PROMPT IT TO DO THIS.

The final render, after I fixed clips that were unusable or way off, is OK. Just OK. Definitely not good, which for the work I've done and want to keep doing IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH. It's missing all the subtle stuff real actors on set, especially someone as talented as Will Ferrell, would bring to make it shine.

I hope you enjoyed it, I hope Mr. Ferrell doesn't sue me, I hope we put more value on human performance, and I hope one day I get to make this project with real actors, bringing to a set and to a project what I truly believe only a group of people working together can bring. by @lumos.pr

NEW RELEASE: live on Fovii, experience AEQUUS today

Directed and produced by @elad_offer (Bono: Stories of Surrender Immersive), AEQUUS offers an unfiltered perspective on vulnerability and asks: What happens when there is nowhere left to hide? Written, choreographed, and produced by Danah Matthews, with co-direction by Simon Thirlaway and immersive production by @lightsailvr , @roguelabsvr and producer @emilyolman , AEQUUS stands as a powerful testament to the power of dance and the vast narrative possibilities of immersive.

AEQUUS is an immersive dance film capturing the dynamic, shifting equilibrium within a relationship: two dancers, a bare stage, light and shadow. This five-minute encounter explores an intricate push and pull in a first-of-its-kind spatial cinema experience, with rising stars @_maile_ (Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia”, Radio City Rockettes), and @kyleponte_ (performer with Lana Del Rey, Lady Gaga, and Mariah Carey).

First look at something I’ve been quietly working on: AEQUUS 🎭

I’ve spent the last while producing this one, and it’s been unlike anything else on my plate right now, a five-minute immersive dance film about the push and pull inside a relationship. Light and shadow. Connection and collapse. Just two dancers, a bare stage, and everything unsaid between them. Immersive VR180.

The film is a creative endeavor conceived by @elad_offer the same director behind the award-winning Bono: Stories of Surrender Immersive. Something about stripping a story down to its core makes it hit harder.

We filmed this on May 27th at StageThis! Los Angeles, and I’m still a little in awe of what came together in that room and with this extraordinarily talented team.
