Milan Design Week 2026 - Alcova

Inside the former Baggio Military Hospital, time feels suspended.

For Milan Design Week, @alcova.milano transforms abandoned spaces on the city’s edge into a living landscape of contemporary design, raw, poetic, and quietly powerful.

Walking through its long corridors and empty rooms, each installation feels like a temporary occupation of memory: fragile objects set against heavy walls, ideas unfolding in silence, light filtering through what used to be a place of care and control.

Alcova is not just an exhibition, it’s a slow discovery of how design breathes inside decay. Photo credit @elementcurations @arghavansheibani

Metamorphosis in Motion
by @linaghotmeh
at Palazzo Litta

A soft labyrinth unfolding within a Baroque courtyard.
A spatial choreography of bodies, light, and movement.

This installation dissolves the boundary between architecture, art, and experience, inviting visitors to wander, pause, and become part of the space itself.
Not a static object, but a living environment shaped by presence and perception.

A moment to slow down, within the intensity of Milan Design Week 2026.

Serotonin - the chemistry of happiness

Within the historic Loggiato of Pinacoteca di Brera, this immersive installation by @sararicciardistudio transforms the science of well-being into a living, breathing environment.

Soft inflatable forms expand and contract in sync with the human heartbeat, creating a rhythmic landscape of light, color, and motion, a sensory experience that blurs the line between architecture and emotion.

Spinning Dolphin
Inspired by the kinetic beauty of dolphins, this sculptural stool captures their joyful rhythm and fluid grace. Each piece radiates with vibrant colors, echoing the playful dance of dolphins across the waves.
This piece is created to raise awareness about endangered marine life, celebrating movement, lightness, and a deep connection to the ocean through color. Each hue evokes a distinct emotion, inviting a sense of vitality and wonder into the space.
Through this series, the artist honors the dolphins' message, a reminder of harmony between human life and the fragile beauty of our planet's waters

BIBI
This armchair is called BiBi, a term in Farsi that is often used to refer to grandmothers. The name evokes the image of a kind, elderly woman sitting in the corner of a room on an old chair, with a warm and friendly smile that creates a sense of peace and love within us. The main inspiration for the design of this object was the subjective image that this name conjures. A cozy and plush chair that offers ultimate comfort and relaxation. With its simple and beautiful appearance, this armchair mot only servs a functional purpose, but also establishes a meaningful connection with the architecture. It is made of four main pieces and is finally covered with fabric or leather.

ZEENCHE Stool is not designed to fill a space.
It is designed to define one.

More object than furniture, more architecture than seat,
ZEENCHE exists somewhere between use and presence.
A sculptural form that invites the body to pause,
and the space to breathe.
