⁨ ⁨ ⁨ …

Some journeys are not about reaching a destination.

For me, Alamut became a journey through silence, mountains, history, and self-discovery.

Over several months, I wandered through this extraordinary landscape, filming its mist, light, wind, and timeless atmosphere, trying to capture something that words alone could never fully express.

LORD OF ALAMUT is not a historical documentary.

It is a cinematic experience inspired by the spirit of Alamut.

This film is the first chapter of the ALAMUT Project, a long-term journey exploring the landscapes, culture, and soul of this remarkable region.

I’d love to hear what you felt while watching it.

‏ALAMUT

‏A portrait of a place where history, women, and everyday life meet.

Alamut — a story written in stone, wind, light, and silence.

THE LORD OF ALAMUT
A film by Elham Naghdi

I began filming Alamut before it became a World Heritage site.
I came here searching for a landscape, and found a story — of memory, power, silence, and survival.

Now, as Alamūt Castle and Related Fortifications enter the UNESCO World Heritage List, I return to this unfinished film with a different sense of urgency.

This is not only a film about a castle.
It is a journey into Alamut — its mountains, its people, its history, and the traces that remain.

The Lord of Alamut

The journey continues.

Silence does not make things disappear.

It allows them to emerge,
slowly,
from beneath the noise of the world.

Perhaps presence can only be seen in silence.
