My works in the glass case! I am very excited about this arrangement of these works of mine in the case… The flow and relationships between pieces that bring out particular moments in others. A nice example of particular types of works of mine that respond to and transform charged objects and materials from particular locations and moments. I have others on the wall included with very nice works of the other artists this exhibit thinking about material and place, including @monicadchurch. 💗Thank you @sharon_a_bates for all your work, vision and fun curating. Opening today @millbrookartsgroup Place | Meant, curated by Sharon Bates, July 10 at the Millbrook Library, 3 Friendly Lane, Millbrook NY

Please join us this Friday at the Millbrook Arts Project for the public reception of PLACE | MEANT. There will be an informal conversation with the artists at 4:00PM.

featuring the following artists:
Laura Cannamela
Monica Church
Elisa Lendvay
Susan Newmark
Barbara Todd

Presented in conjunction with Making Meaning: A Collage Symposium at the Vassar Institute for the Liberal Arts, this exhibition brings together five artists whose collage-based practices investigate place, memory, and materiality. Through acts of collecting, layering, cutting, weaving, stitching, and assembling, fragments of the physical world are transformed into works that navigate both earthly and psychological terrain.

Drawing from geological formations, urban surfaces, found objects, textiles, maps, and archival fragments, the artists allow traces of accumulated histories to remain visible within their compositions. Whether rooted in the glacial landscapes of the Hudson Valley, the layered streets of Berlin and Brooklyn, or the quiet accumulation of color and material gathered over time, the exhibition considers place as something continually constructed—shaped by perception and the meanings we attach to the places we inhabit.

Dia day los muertos jig to keep it moving. The veil still be thin. Let’s all be sure and vote tomorrow, Tues, if haven’t already and vote for the good (not the criminals). 💙
There are other current skeleton shuffles and dance-a-days, seasonal studio movement breaks, all quite silly and absurd always. Some documented but haven’t quite a moment to share. This for now, to move through — dos de noviembre. For peace sakes. Honoring those before us in whateva ways! 💜🍂✨ by @elisalendvay

Remembering and wanting the best croissants in Montreal. 🥐Fabienne and family took us to her favorite croissant place in the world- indeed! G agrees. In the Mile End neighborhood where with most friendly cats. And best bagels hot from the fire. (not usually that into bagels but these smaller thinner denser and sweeter) In August with these lovelies @fabiennelasserre .💛💚 (these kiddos were born 4 months from each other and Fab and I had the same doula in NYC) by @elisalendvay
