POSTS STORIES REELS
There she is 🎨🪻 A whole lot of flowers, a little bit of magic and one very talented Ella Hodges. We wanted this wall to feel like it had always belonged here. Like it had a few stories to tell before we ever opened the doors. Somehow, Ella took that idea and made it better than we could’ve imagined. And getting to watch it happen? That might’ve been our favorite part. Little by little, flower by flower, we’ve watched this wall become something pretty special. Every time we thought it couldn’t get any better, Ella would come back and prove us wrong. Soon, this wall will be the backdrop to first dates, old friends, last calls and probably a few things we’ll all agree to keep between us. But before all that, we wanted to give Ella her flowers. Literally and otherwise. Ella, thank you for pouring so much of yourself into this corner of Regular’s. We couldn’t have imagined a better person to bring it to life, and we’re pretty damn lucky to have you as part of our story. Here’s to you, here’s to Regular’s and here’s to one hell of a mural. #theregularsbar #southsidechattanooga #chattanoogaart #neighborhoodbar #winebar by @ellamarietta.art

Who You Think You Are, Who We Think We Are, I Shop, Therefore I Am, Me! Poster Installation, 2025 B.F.A. Thesis ✎ ⋆.ೃ࿔*:･ In a world guided by images, objects, and commodities, we focus not only on how others perceive us but also on our own self-perception. Taglines like “Think Smarter” and “Life Made Easier” convince us that objects can transform our lives, while social media feeds our incessant desire for instant gratification, encouraging a curation of one’s identity. Capitalism finds its footing in sign value and brand awareness through a stupendous disguise of appropriation and reconstruction. Absorbed by brands, we become complicit in promoting commodified visual status symbols. Our originality fades as we succumb to the grip of capital, relying on a collapsing system. Influenced by mere seconds of an advertisement–conditioned to crave–our consumption becomes second nature. We shop, therefore we perform. by @ellamarietta.art
And So I Write, 2025 by @ellamarietta.art
Did You Hear That From TikTok? Since the 2024 presidential campaigns, I have found myself increasingly compelled to educate myself on the political and social environment of the world today. Until recently, I hadn’t concerned myself with politics beyond scrolling through social media posts and reiterating news headlines as if they were my own observations and opinions. The state of the world—threats to human rights, the silencing of voices, the silencing of people, the looming possibility of war, lies and manipulation, and blatant hate shadows over me like the fear of being a victim of a mass shooting. I don’t know how to respond. I don’t know how to react. I don’t feel like I can do anything to help anyone. In hopes of creating change or feeling even an ounce of optimism, I search the internet for articles, I watch videos from fellow disappointed citizens, I scavenge for knowledge—for facts—yet I’m still left with an ocean of polarized information, none of which I can confidently believe is the whole story. What’s left to do? Make memes? Talk existentially with peers about our reality? Call Kamala “BRAT”? I’m left with information screaming at me and an unwavering feeling of exhaustion and hopelessness—the loudest silence. by @ellamarietta.art
Feel Embrace and Delete Ordinary! I Told You So. The way advertising permeates our lives fascinates me. It is strikingly terrifying how much we have allowed it to infiltrate our identities and perceptions of the world. We aestheticize. We consume. We perform. We are. As Barbara Kruger best put it, “I shop therefore I am” by @ellamarietta.art
And Here We Are Found Media Video, Printed Posters 2024 The debris of audiovisual production has infiltrated our lives, distorting and accelerating the deterioration of our connections. Constant circulation of the abuse of images establishes its power through the disguise of escapism, contemplation, and aesthetics. As the pervasive nature of the Internet increases, we become distracted and reduced to mere consumers of media. With new technologies offering more possibilities to absorb consumers, our relationship with digital shores becomes linked by mutual excitement and anxiety. To escape this vicious cycle, we have reduced the temporality of life to alternative worlds and images, conflating our natural landscape and true reality. by @ellamarietta.art

“Belvoir” 24x36 oil on canvas 2024 Perpendicular to Chattanooga’s Brainerd Road, Belvoir Avenue offers a welcome escape from high-speed driving, never-ending traffic, and inevitable jaywalkers. A lot has happened on Belvoir—AA meetings at the Presbyterian church, my brother’s first car accident, and my parent’s divorce. My first and only childhood home sits on an adjacent street, tended by my eccentric mother. A church parking lot with a roundabout, shrouded by tall bushes, concealed my high school adolescent activities. Belvoir is a beautiful view—a lens to my childhood, a trove of everlasting memories, and homes adorned with manicured lawns and children playing. by @ellamarietta.art
