You’re not struggling because you’re not good.
You’re struggling because you’re replaceable.

And you can feel it.

Not because you’re not good… you’re great. The results prove it. The referrals prove it. The “you’re crushing it” texts prove it.

But somewhere past the first million, you noticed something uncomfortable:
The market can’t tell you apart from the ten other people who do what you do. And deep down, neither can you.

You’ve built something successful.
But not something scalable.

And there’s a difference.

Because the next level isn’t about doing more.
It’s about becoming someone your market can’t substitute.

That’s where most service-based businesses plateau, not from lack of skill… but from lack of separation.

Trust Issues is for the founder, advisor, expert
who’s done playing in a crowded category
and is ready to become the standard inside it.

Where your name carries weight.
Your presence closes gaps.
And your reputation does the selling before you ever speak.

This isn’t about louder marketing.
It’s about stronger positioning.

You don’t need more leads.
You need to be the one they don’t compare.

Coming soon.

If you’re ready to stop being one option to the only option…

You’ll want to be here.

2018 was my year for the dark night of the soul.

I left the man that I thought I was going to spend the rest of my life with.

I got fired from a company that I thought I was going to spend the rest of my career with.

I was betrayed by “friends” and “mentors” that I spent more time with than my own family for almost a decade.

I was slapped with a 6-figure tax bill and completely screwed financially.

I was stripped of everything that I put my self-worth in all within a 3-minute phone call.

It was the lowest point of my life.

5 years later… I realize that God, Universe, Source handed me the best gifts of my life disguised as the worst year of my life.

And now, I’m ready to start sharing more of these gifts with you 💖 by @elle_petrillo

And that’s just how it goes some days… by @elle_petrillo

There’s a difference between:
Systems that help you get shit done.
And systems that help the business get shit done without everything depending on you.

One creates productivity.
The other creates scale.

Because the goal isn’t just to be organized.

The goal is to create a business where sales are followed up on, clients are taken care of and important details don’t fall through the cracks, even when you’re not personally holding every piece together.

Some would call me Type A and then look at my sticky notes and wonder…

But here’s the truth:
I don’t care what the system looks like.
I care that it works.
A sticky note can help you remember something.
A real system makes sure it gets done.
That’s the difference between running a business and being the person your entire business runs through.

Everything people teach on sales is exactly why you don’t want to sell.
We turned it into scripts.
Frameworks.
Closing techniques.
Psychological tricks.
And then we wondered why so many people started to hate selling.
Sales was never supposed to feel transactional.
Because sales isn’t about getting someone to say yes.
It’s about making someone feel understood.
The best salespeople don’t walk into a conversation thinking, How do I close this?
They walk in asking, How can I help?
That’s the difference.
Sales isn’t something you do to people.
It’s something you do for people.
The moment you stop trying to win the sale and start trying to win the person, everything changes.
People don’t remember your pitch.
They remember how you made them feel.
And when people feel seen, heard, and understood…
Trust follows.
The sale is just the byproduct.

297% one year. 14% the next.
Guess which one mattered more.

Many owners panic during a flat year.
They change the offer.
Fire someone.
Hire someone.
Rebrand.
Launch something new.
Blow up the whole business.

Because when revenue isn’t moving, it feels like nothing is working.
But sometimes nothing is wrong.
Sometimes you’re just in the year where the business is being built to hold more.

This business went from $100K to $2.7M.
Not because they worked harder every year.
Because they stopped relying on talent, referrals and the founders doing everything.

They fixed the positioning.
They fixed the pricing.
They built the sales process.
They documented the systems.
They created predictable ways to generate leads.
They hired a team that could actually carry the growth.
And here’s the part nobody wants to hear:
Some of the most important work they did barely moved revenue at first.

One year grew 14%. The next grew 151%.
The “slow” year wasn’t wasted.
It was an investment.

So before you decide your business is broken, ask yourself:
Are you actually stuck or are you finally building what your next level requires?
Because more effort cannot fix a business that needs a better system.

Save this for the next time one flat quarter has you ready to burn the whole thing down.

You cannot explain something once, hand someone a script, and then get frustrated when they do not execute it perfectly.
That is not training.

You have to show them what good looks like.
Let them watch you do it.
Practice it with them.
Give them the chance to do it while you are there to coach them.
Correct them in the moment, without making them feel stupid for not knowing what you never taught them.
And when they get it right, tell them exactly what they did well so they know which behavior to repeat.

Because “great job” feels good.
But “you slowed down, asked a better question, and gave the prospect space to answer” actually teaches them something.
Good sales leadership requires more than patience and encouragement.

It requires:
Clear expectations.
Consistent coaching.
Repetition.
Immediate feedback.
Accountability.
And enough belief in someone to keep developing them before deciding they “just do not have it.”

Now, let me be clear.
Patience does not mean lowering the standard.
Support does not mean avoiding hard conversations.
And positive reinforcement does not mean ignoring poor performance.

The best sales leaders hold two things at the same time:
A high level of belief in their people.
And a high level of accountability for the work.

They ask:
Is this person unwilling to do the work?
Or have I failed to give them the clarity, practice, feedback, and coaching required to do it well?

Because sometimes the issue is skill.
Sometimes it is confidence.
Sometimes it is effort.
And sometimes the system, the offer, the lead quality, or the leadership is the real problem.

Before you decide your salesperson “doesn’t have it,” ask whether you actually trained them or simply told them what you expected and waited to see if they figured it out.

Telling is not training.
Encouragement is not coaching.
And leadership is not waiting for someone to prove they deserve your investment.

Leadership is showing people what excellence looks like, helping them practice it, holding them accountable to it, and believing in their ability to rise to it.

Most people think growth is a strategy problem.

It’s not.

It’s a trust problem.

I wrote a deeper breakdown on why trust behaves like an asset and why everything feels heavier when it’s mismanaged.

People love to say, “I run a referral-based business.”
Like referrals just… show up.
Like the universe Venmo’s them warm leads for being having a business.

That’s not a referral-based business.
That’s passivity at its finest.

A real referral-based business is active as hell.

It means:
You deliver so well people feel stupid not telling others. You ask directly instead of waiting politely. You’re intentional about who you want referrals from and for. You follow up. You remind people. You make it easy. You earn the right to receive.

Referrals are a byproduct of clarity, trust, and strategy. If you’re not asking, you’re not referral-based. You’re just available. And availability doesn’t scale. by @elle_petrillo

I’ve watched a lot of books launch this past year.
And I keep seeing the same pattern.

Thousands of dollars on launch parties.
Endless social assets.
Trailers. Photoshoots. “Big moment” energy.

And then…
no real sales, no business growth, no deeper client transformation, no actual leverage

Because a book launch without a strategy is just an expensive performance.

A book is not the business.
It’s a doorway.

If it doesn’t:
grow demand, position your authority, move people into deeper work, or expand your ecosystem
…it’s not doing its job.

If the book didn’t build momentum after launch week,
it wasn’t a launch.
It was a moment. Books that change lives are built on intention + infrastructure, not hype.

If you’re writing (or launching) a book, ask yourself:
What happens after someone finishes the last page?

That answer is the difference between a passion project and a powerful platform. by @elle_petrillo
