30th trip around the sun today

Hard to say what today means other than I’m just grateful to be alive and live a life where I feel like I truly belong.

In a lot of ways, I feel like my 20s actually started when I was 26 after a tough go of it.

There’s no use in even trying to sum up a decade of life in a handful of photos but I think between a loving family, beautiful girlfriend, road dogs, collaborators and community, I’m really really f*cking lucky.

I am what I eat and it’s because of you guys that I can enjoy each day.

The rig is road worthy! Thank you @dpichemusic for building out this board for me.

To any musicians looking to optimize their gear, I can’t recommend Dawson enough as a tech. He made sure my amp switcher, wireless and power were unified and streamlined on the board and was uncompromising about my footwork and flow (and even installed a custom riser for the top row). Big ups to Dawson and may we all have a Dumb Crush Day™️🧨🎸💥💕 by @elliottisaac_

First lap around the sun for “What’s Gotten Into People?” by @dumbcrushband

This band started with us realizing that we’re aging in dog years. Every moment lasting a little less until suddenly you regret never taking the risk that you always wanted to take.

To Owen and Liam: love you boys forever.

Thank you to everyone else making this shit possible that means Seb and Ryan diving headfirst into the liminality of tour and 14hr drives, Evie styling us, taking photos, making videos and Serena taking pics, Jack and Seb and Austin with the music vids and Max, Calvin and Kristian for making the sound come to life ❤️ by @elliottisaac_

My album is out today. Effectively written as a means to reclaim my life after some tough years and find a way to play guitar again.

This is all about renewal. Renewing myself, my love for a guitar that I found in my parents’ basement that was once graced by the hands of my father in the 1980s, and my sense of surrender to that which is imperfect.

It’s with joy and admittedly confusion that I drop these songs when they’ve been finished for nearly two years, but I guess every seed comes to bloom eventually.

In all that, gotta send the craziest and most profound love to Max for his time and mind in this. Max - I love you - @castlefrankmusic on the prod and mix for this - it’s his sound that cuts through on this album with every track.

Taking one step further, I’d like to thank my singing teacher @mattdellmusic - I’ve never considered myself to be a naturally gifted singer. Working with Matt gave me the confidence to find my voice. This record as the first step in believing I could be myself and say what I felt was true to me. Love you ❤️

Thanks for everything to everyone and for spinning the tracks.

My solo album “Not Everything (Is A Party)” comes out on streaming next week (March 27).

I used to think dropping this album would change my life. I’m glad I realized that actually it was making this album which changed my life.

Thank you @castlefrankmusic for being the guiding ears and mind behind this project and for believing we could make something truly unique and contained in its own expression as opposed to its derivation. I listen back and hear myself as a slightly younger yet somehow wiser musician and I’m so grateful to have that - it’s really beautiful and I’m so glad we made this.

I wrote the album with Max a few years ago. It was during a year when Cam, Matt, Aidan and I drove the circumference of the earth (literally like 40,000km) in a Chrysler Pacifica. Sitting here now that feels like it could’ve been yesterday and is insane to think that was two years ago.

That’ll do crazy things to a person - I love you boys forever and can’t thank you enough for making me who I am and believing in me.

If you’re still reading this I just gotta say when this shit drops next week I rly hope you spin it and I rly hope you like it. But if you don’t, that’s okay cuz at least I’ll know for myself that I crafted this and am better off for it.

Much love ❤️

“iPod Classic” Out Now

Man it’s crazy how the time flies - Sometimes putting out a song feels cloudy because the process and subject matter has faded in life and it all feels emotionally removed.

Today, with this song, I’m grateful for that. I learned a lot of lessons through this song - namely I am not my physical pain.

I hear a lot of imperfections in this where I used to hear perfection, but that is what improving is as an artist and it’s time for this baby to leave the nest.

Obsessed with the wizardry @castlefrankmusic put down on the production and the mix here 🥁💿🎧 and topped off by the ubiquitous @kristianmontano on the master

On Your Side out now!

Felt so protective of my headspace when I was making this song over a year ago now. Life feels bright and full and very different now which I’m grateful for. I’m about to go away for a few days so run it up in the meantime and once I’m back with internet I’ll do more talking about all the ins and outs of this tune.

Huge love to @castlefrankmusic for the production and mix on this and the patience of an angel as I tracked the guitars and vocals in the most neurotic way.

If you don’t say it out loud, it isn’t true - a thought I had for far too long in my 20s.
