Colour palettes inspired by nature 🪺🍂🍄‍🟫

Nature does the work, we just pay attention: to the way moss meets stone, how light falls through pine, the quiet confidence of a landscape that was never “arranged.” It humbles us, and it makes us sharper.

That’s the paradox we chase in every cabin — spaces that feel completely natural, wild almost, when in truth every tone, texture and line is carefully chosen. Curated to feel uncurated.

Did you know that the eye can see more shades of green than any other colour? 👁️

Comment your favourite colour palette below.

A summer of French design inspiration. Paris and Marseille, through our eyes.

Paris, a city of beautiful contradictions — the ornament and grandeur of its historic architecture sitting alongside the clarity and restraint of modernism. The sculptural simplicity of Giacometti, the rigorous geometry and raw materiality of Le Corbusier, the playfulness of Monet; coloured glass balconies, softened by aged stone, warm timber, patinated metals and the quiet elegance that feels so distinctly Parisian.

What we love most is the tension between old and new. Nothing feels too polished, too perfect or too considered. Materials are allowed to age, objects have presence, and spaces feel collected rather than composed.

A few details, forms and textures from Paris and Marseille that have stayed with us — and will inevitably find their way into our work. taken in Paris, France by @recabins

A few things that won’t change your lifestyle, but might change your life.

The UK has declared drought, France, Spain & Italy are burning, and we’ve just used up a year’s worth of natural resources in 7 months.

We’ve dedicated our careers to helping people make the sustainable choice. Whether that be through design or through eco travel. We’ve curated exhibitions spotlighting our over reliance on plastic and our underutilisation of recycling. We used to run monthly litter pick ups (maybe we’ll bring this back) and our cabins are off-grid - utilising solar as our energy source. We always hoped to change people’s mindset around holidays and travel and hoped that by offering a high quality alternative to getting on a plane, that we might influence people to travel more consciously.

We consult with clients about how to design and build according to the most sustainable principles and we design all of our buildings and spaces in line with WELL Building Standards.

But honestly, that’s not enough. This is our collective responsibility and even small changes can make a difference. 🌳💚 taken in Earth by @recabins

The Maison La Roche, by Le Corbusier, 1925.
New building materials such as reinforced concrete allowed Le Corbusier to implement what he was to call “the five points of a new architecture”. These are: piles, roof garden, free plan, ribbon window and free facade, here use together for the first time.
