This is my latest tiki carving, and honestly, I have no idea how long it took from start to finish. I should’ve kept track, but I was carving away just to see if I could actually pull this one off. Every carving teaches me something new, and this one definitely pushed me, and this is the result.

A huge thank you to @tikidiablo for being an incredible inspiration and, more importantly, a great friend. I'll forever be grateful. You are gone but never forgotten.

Shrunken Skull in its original mug from the Mai Kai located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This recipe is from the book Mr. Lemon Hart's Tropical Treats, 1973.

1/2 oz lime juice
1/2 oz grenadine
1/2 oz Puerto Rico Gold Rum
1/2 oz Lemon Hart Demerara Rum

I flash blended everything with 2 cups of crushed ice and poured it into a skull mug.

* I doubled the recipe to fit the mug. In the book it says to stain it into a cocktail glass.

Chi Chi in it's original mug served at the Don The Beachcomber locations in the 1960s.

4 oz pineapple juice*
1 oz coconut cream**
2 oz Vodka
2 cups crused ice

Flashblend everything for about 10 seconds and pour unstrained into a coconut tiki mug.

*original recipe calls for 5 oz of pineapple juice but I went with four.
**original calls for Lopez but I used Coco Real

Steve's Rum Barrel in its original mug.
From the Luau restaurant, Beverly Hills, California and Kon-Tiki restaurants, circa 1961.

3/4 oz fresh lime juice
3/4 oz fresh orange juice
3/4 oz fresh grapefruit juice
3/4 oz pineapple juice
1/2 oz honey syrup
1/2 oz passion fruit syrup
2 oz Coruba Jamaican rum
2 oz Havana Club 3 year rum*
1 dash Angostura bitters
1 dash Pernod
1/4 oz Giffard orgeat syrup **
2 cup crushed ice

Flashblend everything for about 10 seconds and pour unstrained into a Rum barrel mug. Add ice to fill.

* my house Puerto Rican rum is Havana but you can use Don Q Cristal.
** instead of 3 drops of almond extract I used syrup
