A little bit of rain, a little bit of autumn, a little bit of magic ✨ #autumn by @elveaart

Sometimes it’s overwhelming to have many passions but also a “regular” life. These past months have been tough because many things happened all at once, and time just keeps on flying away, it doesn’t just stop because we need more of it to deal with everything. It’s tough to maintain a good balance between what needs to be done and free time, especially when life is filled with people and situations that need your attention, sometimes you cannot predict things and so it becomes hard to figure out how to plan and do everything you’d like to do in the little free time out of the office there is.

But sometimes you get a moment, like the dreaded daylight savings time change, which allowed me this morning to wake up an hour earlier than usual (I don’t need clocks because I’m an insomniac 🥲) and, just for fun, illustrate this fairy with me in this picture I took yesterday. This might be the last weekend for a while that I’m able to come to the mountains for more than one day since November and December are usually filled with concerts. But maybe I can just fly away to the woods with her, for a while 😂

The wind was blowing stronger and stronger, so I stood still and listened. There was a sweet melody, like an ancient song, and I couldn’t quite figure out where it was coming from. The leaves, all yellow, and red, and orange, and gold, were saying goodbye to their dear branches. Mesmerized by the music, they needed to fly with the wind and become one with the changing season. They didn’t know what would happen to them, or where they were going, but they noticed that everything else around them was suddenly changing, and moving, after the lazy summer stillness. They just knew something was calling them, and they simply had to go.

Sometimes it’s ok to try and fail. Plants are tough, sometimes things work out and sometimes they don’t. In these past two years I’ve learnt that even if it’s sad, sometimes it’s not completely your fault if a plant dies. You might do something wrong but it’s ok. It’s not a puppy or an animal, and everytime you mess up you learn something new. I’ve learnt that sometimes watering and taking care of plants is relaxing and boosts your serotonin levels, sometimes it’s annoying and you’d rather do anything else but that. I’ve learnt that when you leave for a few days it’s worrying to think about your outdoor plants in the scorching sun and your indoor plants in the complete darkness. Sometimes it’s possible to have someone come over and take care of them, sometimes it’s not, but again: they’re not animals, so it’s fine. I used to get so sad whenever I killed a plant, and now I’ve learnt to enjoy the good without stressing too much if something goes wrong, otherwise there’s no point in keeping plants in the first place. I’ve learnt that my dog Kiwi loves my big monstera because it’s the perfect hiding spot, so even if the plant is in need of a trim I’m keeping it big because it’s too funny. Plants make everything better because we need more nature in our lives to feel calm and at ease and keeping plants is the way to go. But if you mess up it’s ok - everything online seems to be perfect and beautiful and healthy all the time but that’s not the way it works I think. I’ve learnt to enjoy them and learn from them, messing up from time to time. It makes the wins better! 🌱

Who’s on vacation?? 😊
I am at home, but dreaming about chilling at the sea, the sound of the waves, no one watching… 🐠 🐟 🐳

The third (and last) dinosaur illustration! The stegosaurus is probably my favorite one, I imagine they were gentle giants and so it made sense that this cute one would let the kid ride on its back! 🦕 ❤️

Remember when we were kids and we would go on adventures with our best friends? I remember drawing and creating treasure hunts, and then going on a hunt with a pirate ship, or climbing a tree that was like the highest mountain, to see further away, or walking by an enormous fern and pretend we just got teleported to a prehistoric forest. At that point, it was pretty much obvious that we would be surrounded by dinosaurs! 🦖 🌱
