A dance-theatre piece conceived as a device for self-reflection. It offers no answers, only a reminder.

The body on stage belongs to no one: the audience projects onto it, and ends up facing their own shadow.

In the desire to be seen, I crave connections with the world. Where words are not enough to achieve such a relation, performing fills the gap.

The deeper I go in my journey, the more I feel the need to share, as this act allows me to inhabit the moment completely.

Lately, I feel I’ve become more receptive. In the desire to find meanings, I’ve met “some symbols”. Those symbols brought me to this dialogue I shared at @fucinevulcano thanks to @fonografia_ambiente

This performance, the first public sharing of an ongoing exploration, was an inquiry into the complex relationship between symbols and perception. Drawing on Jungian theory, it questioned how we observe, interpret, and judge our subjective reality.
The goal was not to offer answers, but to provoke reflection, challenging our habitual judgments to foster a more instinctive and authentic understanding of the self.

“Echoes of the Self in Motion” by @emanueletravaini is now live <3

In this piece, he dives into the body as a vessel, the stage as a space for truth, and performance as a way to connect deeply and without filters.

Contact improvisation performance at @studiorasolarehub

This improvisation was part of the project Desire to COnn3ct.

“Desire to Connect” is an interdisciplinary project exploring the universal human need for connection through dance, symbolism, and interactive technology. It delves into themes of vulnerability, identity, and the barriers to intimacy, using movement and archetypes to express the emotional and subconscious dimensions of connection. The project invites audiences to reflect on their own desires to connect and fosters a sense of shared humanity.

Proud of our dominion, we remain blind to how deeply we are victims of nature, and of ourselves. In our arrogance, we assume ‘reason’ has elevated us beyond myths and symbols. Yet, a truth might be that, the ancient ‘gods and demons’ haven’t vanished; they’ve merely changed names. Their new forms are the anxieties and neuroses that trouble us, the unconscious forces that relentlessly elude our control. Our very creative mind can turn against us. We are, at our core, intrinsically vulnerable. Only by surrendering to and accepting the invisible world can we truly ascend by @emanueletravaini

Myths demonize you on the surface. Yet you, a symbol like any other, just want to speak to us: to teach, to enlighten.
I feared your voice, that raw feeling you stir; mistaking you for the chaos that would leave me powerless.
You don’t whisper of ruin. No, you’re pointing to where I’m incomplete—the parts of me I’ve denied, parts holding a different kind of strength. This discomfort you bring isn’t punishment, but a call to integrate. To be truly whole, not just carefully curated. To finally see you not as a devil, but as my daimon. by @emanueletravaini

Improvisation performance at @studiorasolarehub for the exhibition Symbiosis of the Organic and the Digital: Interwoven Realms of Nature and Machine.

This performance felt deeply aligned with the essence of the exposition, embodying the synergy between digital visuals and my presence as a performer. As a first study, it opened up exciting possibilities, and I’m eager to further explore the role technology can play in shaping and enhancing my future performances.

I’ve embodied this character more than once—a creature craving connection. Sarcastic, sharp, and provocative, it reflects how we often live in self-imposed prisons, drifting further away from our true selves.

Through ‘Desire to Connect,’ I aim to explore this tension between vulnerability and isolation, using movement, symbols, and interactive technology to reflect on what it means to truly connect—with others and with ourselves
