Took the wife out for an afternoon of fun fishing. Ended up with six lakers to five pounds. The spawn is getting started with fish sitting on hard bottom down to 100 feet. The fish are lethargic but willing to eat the AA’s Bubba Shad Jr. bounced on bottom. A few fish took the Deps Sakamata Shad.

Solid fishing the last two weeks on both numbers and quality.
We are fishing depths between 85-95 feet using the 3 inch AA Worms Bad Bubba Shad and Deps Sakamata in 3 to 4.5 inch. Glidebaits and wedgetail swimbaits are getting attention, but the fish are recultant to eat them.
We will be back on Jenkinson in September. by @emberlineadventures

We are back from Japan with a plethora of new perspectives on targetting game fish. A quick trip evening up the hill with the SLIDESWIMMER 115 yielded one bite but it was the right one. We will continue trips soon. by @emberlineadventures

We scouted the higher reaches yesterday and found a few big macks willing to eat the 3” Deps Sakamata Shad. Full moon and post front conditions worked against us but we ended on a total of six lake trout to 9 pounds. by @emberlineadventures

On Saturday 3/14 we returned to the Sierras after a one month hiatus. We launched early to check a few spots, hooking and landing a smaller grade mackinaw on the first drop. A few drops later we hooked up again but lost it. Bruce, our repeat client showed up at the ramp a few moments later. We went back to one of our scouted spots and proceeded to drop on a steady bite. By mid morning, the bite completely shut down for several hours landing only one in that time frame. We made one last move in the afternoon and proceeded to round out limits to four pounds for both client and captain. Our best method continues to be strolling with the Deps 2.5” Sakamata Shad. We had one fish take an Optimum Baits Bubba Jr.

We are still only offering trips on a part time basis. Give us a call for availability at 916-572-4420. by @emberlineadventures

Our open trip for Friday 2/20 is cancelled due to road and weather conditions. We will attempt to head up the hill when conditions allow. by @emberlineadventures

On Sunday 2/15 we had one angler out for a late riser trip before the snow moves in. We experienced similar, steady action from two weeks ago with some lake trout roaming in the top 20 feet while others stay glued to the bottom down to 65 feet. Big fish are showing up but they eluded us. We landed eight lake trout to 25 inches and we got to fight a couple! The Deps Sakamata in 2 and 2.5 inch continue to be our top bait with one nicer grade fish taken on a 2.75” Bubba Shad from Optimum Baits. by @emberlineadventures

We are opening one late riser spot for Friday 2/20, 9AM to 3:00PM, pending weather and road conditions. Stormy and unsettled conditions will give us the chance to target trophy lake trout on glidebaits and swimbaits in shallow water. Cost is 250.00. Gear and fish cleaning is included. We will not run if weather or road conditions are unsafe. DM or call/text (916) 572-4420 to book. by @emberlineadventures

We recently did some recon work and found the lake trout starting to shift towards spring patterns.

Active fish are moving up shallow with most coming from 50 feet or less. Cruisers are in the top 20 feet and aggressive.

Strolling baits like the Deps Sakamata Shad continue to produce while the IMA Sukari 50SS Deep BFS jerkbait enticed a few bites. The swimbait bite is still slow with only followers and no takers.

Rainbow trout are also plentiful due to recent plants by DFW - they provide some excellent action in between chasing lake trout.

DM or call for February availability. by @emberlineadventures

Opening up one late-riser spot for Sunday, February 1st. 10AM to 4:30PM. We will be chasing lake trout with strolling techniques and some swimbait fishing mixed in. The action is improving week to week with quality over quantity. Shoot us a DM or Call/text (916) 572-4420 for more details. by @emberlineadventures

On Sunday 1/11/26, we did a scouting trip to check conditions. The water is a brisk 44 degrees in most areas and fish are scattered with some holding to bottom while others hang in the top 10 feet. Bubba Shad Jr’s and Deps Sakamata Shads were the top baits today. Total tally, one brown trout to six pounds, three lake trout to five and one smallmouth at three pounds. by @emberlineadventures
