If you’re new here, welcome. 👋 My name is Megan and I have alopecia.

I wanted to share a little snapshot of who I am, and how I can help.

I started Embrace Wigs after losing my own hair. I experienced just how lonely and overwhelming the journey can be. I wanted to build something where people could get honest advice and emotional support. 🙏

This is a safe space is for anyone navigating hair loss. Whether you are curious about alternative hair, or already confident with hairpieces... You’re very welcome here.

Andrea, thank you for letting me be a part of your journey and share your words. ⬇️

Andrea:

"Okay, this is a long one and scary, many women (and men) lose hair through illness, medication, hormone imbalance, menopause, stress and anxiety etc etc, and some, like myself, who has suffered with low self confidence found that losing their hair, was just too much to deal with on top of everything else I was going through.

Now why is it that we can get cosmetic surgery for every part of our body to make ourselves look and feel better, injections to help with weight loss and boost confidence yet a wig or hairpiece isn’t accepted by many as just another aid to boost self confidence for whatever reason you may need one.

So a friend recommended Embrace Wigs to see if they could help. I met Megan who talked me through everything I needed to know in a friendly, supportive and knowledgeable manner.

I put the hairpiece on and automatically a smile came across my face, I had hair. But wearing it at home was one thing to wear it in public, with people who knew me was another story. But today I did just that, full of nerves, I met up with friends, not just one or 2 but 11, this was a big test 😂 and they greeted me with warmth, hugs and non judgmental which was so emotional.

I have put these two pictures up hopefully for inspiration and support to others who are struggling with hair loss, I’m still me on the inside but as you can see the smile shines brighter in one of these pictures just simply by having hair."

Are you struggling with hair loss and would like some support?

What would you add to this list? Let me know below! ⬇️

Here are my top five wig essentials...

1️⃣ A Wig Grip

It's been blowing a hoolie here! 🌬️ I feel safe and secure in my Perfect Embrace Wig Grip, even when I'm walking Bramble dog in severe gale-force winds.

2️⃣ A Wig Stand

Ever heard of object permanence? If I store a wig under my bed in a box, I forget about it! 🤣 Having them on display is the best way to keep my regular rotations in check.

3️⃣ A Wide-Toothed Comb

Using the wrong brush can cause friction and tension, which can damage the fibres and lead to shedding. This is especially true for curly synthetics, so a wide-toothed comb is your friend!

4️⃣ Henry Margu Conditioning Spray

This helps reduce the friction that can cause damage to the fibres, keeping your wig looking and feeling lovely for longer.

5️⃣ A Wig Storage Clip

I have at least one of these in every room! They're brilliant for keeping your wigs out of the way, perfect for travelling, and I even use them to hang my wigs in the shower to air dry after washing.

Looking for a natural and lightweight wig? 😍

These four gorgeous low-density styles from Petite Wigs are all beautiful, but each has her own personality!

✨ Asher: A modern, softly styled bob that sits just above the shoulders. Effortlessly chic!

✨ Collette: Light as a feather with a gorgeous, wispy fringe. Soft, feminine and so easy to wear.

✨ Toni: An easy-to-wear everyday bob with lovely, soft face-framing layers.

✨ Rachel: A stylish asymmetrical cut, longer at the front and shorter at the back. Perfect if you fancy something a little different!

And the best bit? They're ALL wearing my absolute favourite Petite Wigs blonde… Byron Bay Beach! 😍

Now I want to know…

Are you an Asher, Collette, Rachel or Toni girl? ⬇️

All four are available from @embracewigsiom via my website. 💜

I love, love, LOVE doing wig & topper consultations! 🥹💜

They're my favourite part of running Embrace Wigs. 🥰

Getting to know people, and helping them find hair they feel amazing in. That's why I started Embrace Wigs in the first place!

Spending time with Emily and her girls is always such a joy. Plus, they're just a hop, skip and a jump down the road too! 🤣

And doesn't Emily look absolutely gorgeous in her new Cowboy Copper wig from @petitewigs 🎃🧡

You’re never too old for a before and after! 💗

I’ve saved this one until the end of October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, because what better excuse to put Mum @shypiglesley in pink and continue to raise awareness! 💕 And also remind you to go get your checks.. 💕

This was one of the first wigs I tried on her, from the selection Naomi sent, and I think it was the transformation that surprised me the most. Not just the hair, but the sparkle in her eyes when she saw herself.

At 81, she still loves feeling glamorous, having a bit of fun and receiving a compliment. And why on earth shouldn’t she? You’re never too old to feel fabulous, try something new or wear pink 💕

Wig: Petite Pixie by @petitewigs and available at @hairwareuk and @embracewigsiom in the UK 💕

Which one would you add to your wig wardrobe? ⬇️

Firstly, a HUGE thank you to Petite Wigs and @itsellieellis for bringing such a dreamy colour to life! 🥹

Cherry Ripe is a gorgeous, multidimensional red with juicy cherry tones and a darker brown root. 🍒

I've created some stunning, vibrant red custom-coloured human hair wigs...

BUT I've always wanted a synthetic in this colour because it won't fade like dyed human hair does!

If you've ever dyed your bio hair red, you'll know the struggle! 😱

And now we have THREE gorgeous styles to choose from!

✨ Margot: Beautiful beachy waves in a lovely, low-maintenance length.

✨ Olivia: A chic, easy-to-wear bob.

✨ Jolene: A gorgeous, modern wolf cut with plenty of attitude! 🖤

Now, I may have already stolen one for my own personal collection...

Can you guess which one? 🤣

All three are available from @embracewigsiom

A little hair transformation with the beautiful Yasmin from Embrace Wigs! 🤎✨

Made from gorgeous Brazilian Remy human hair, Yasmin is 16 inches from the nape with a natural 130% density. Mine features a small cap, a 5.5" × 5.5" double-layer lace top and bleached knots.

The hair is beautifully soft, the colour is so pretty, and the cap is incredibly comfortable to wear. Such a lovely, natural-looking piece! 🥰

Available from @embracewigsiom 🤎

Kindly gifted to me by @embracewigsiom Wigs in return for an honest review.

I wasn't sure this was gonna suit me... But I'M IN LOVE!

Husband walked in on me filming this and said OMG THAT ONE LOOKS AMAZING!

Trust me, getting Mr C's seal if approval is pretty damn hard! 🤣

So well done @wigitup.uk for creating a piece that even the husbands are happy with.

Here's the boring yet important nitty gritty bits:
✨ Super comfortable hand tied & enclosed wefted cap.
✨ Full mono top, so you can part the hair wherever you like.
✨ Extended lace front so you can wear the hair back from your face.
✨ Versatile heat friendly fibres.

Curly heat friendly pieces do need special care. Becky compares them to cashmere, and has done a wonderful series of videos on maintenance.
