“Do you wonder as you watch my face, if a wiser one should’ve had my place? But I offer all I am for the mercy of Your plan” - Breath of Heaven (Mary’s Song)

Still reflecting and soaking in everything from last night’s show.
Humbled, grateful, and still wondering how I got to work with the level of talent I experienced last night. 🙏 by @emcurtmusic

Once an empty room, this man has been painting until the wee hours of the morning after work, buying speakers/furniture/lights, printing and framing, and building for days with a couch still on its way from his parents.
He wanted to make my soon to be house feel like my home, to create a place where I could fully be myself and create.
The pictures he chose tell the story of us while honoring my life before him.
Needless to say there will be much more music and it will come from a place of peace and love not fear or striving❤️
Once tired and a little beaten up, my heart has never felt safer and more treasured.

Merry Christmas everyone 🙏 by @emcurtmusic

In a funky turn of events I’m honored to announce I’ll be performing in this year’s @tedxcharleston next week at @chsmusichall 🤯

Wrote this song over the summer. These lyrics are kinda where my head has been lately.
This period has been a time of renewal, restructuring my life, and finding out what motivates me now versus what used to motivate me.
This song is almost a continuation of Sandcastles with the royalty metaphor and the pursuit of success and purpose. by @emcurtmusic

Go to Halloween express on Halloween. You have 15 minutes to dress the other person for $20 or less 👻🎃🍬 aint worried bout ya Jolene by @emcurtmusic

Normal life moments as of late. Creating a home, writing songs, singing songs, figuring out how to stay skinny and eat food that tastes good, managing random new depression waves, taking in the good, the bad, and the beautiful messiness of this time 🙏🩵 by @emcurtmusic

Felt so good to be able to share some new music and be brutally honest on stage for the first time in a long time 🙏
thank you to @southernsongwriterfestival and to everyone who came out! by @emcurtmusic

A few quotes from one of my articles over on @substack
I wanted to make a space for those who have spent years trying to become “someone” but need to be reminded who they are. by @emcurtmusic

Cheers to 6 months since “I do” and to 6 million more 🤍🥂 I’m so glad I let go of the pen 🖊️

Decided to share our letters we wrote for each other. They say more than anything I could put into a caption. And apparently mine was too long for Instagram. Who’s shocked? 😉 by @emcurtmusic

Can we talk about last night for a moment? ❤️

@raeestellelove … Sis. You did your thing, as always. But as @joe_clarke_fortejazzlounge said on air Tuesday, “Those people have no idea what’s in store.” And they truly didn’t.

One of my favorite parts of the evening was sitting in the audience and watching people experience the music. You could see it on their faces…that moment when a song began and it felt as though they were remembering the first time they heard it… or maybe remembering the person, place, or season of life connected to it.

That’s the power of music.

Adele’s catalog gives us so much to feel. Whew!!

Love. Heartbreak. Longing. Healing. Reflection. Letting go. Finding yourself again.

I also loved the dynamic elements added to the show, especially highlighting @emcurtmusic @trahop & @musicbykrystal on songs that allowed their individual gifts to shine. The phenomenal violinist, @sarahiyunamusic from Columbia…just beautiful. What a gorgeous addition to the evening.

@_smooooove , Brett, and @bgtheproducer_ , it’s not every day you get called to play Adele! 😂 But you showed up, settled into the music, and did your thing.

And Rae… you didn’t simply sing these songs. You gave people permission to feel them.

There were moments of power, beautiful moments of vulnerability, moments when the room was completely still, and moments when you could feel the entire audience collectively responding.

That’s what live music is supposed to do.

Rolling in the Deep: A Tribute to Adele was more than a collection of songs last night. It was a room full of people remembering, feeling, singing, laughing, and experiencing something together.

And from where I was sitting, it was absolutely beautiful to witness. ❤️🎶

Bravo to everyone who helped bring it to life. @fortejazzlounge , thank you for your hard work and consistency in bringing evenings like last night to our community.

Shout out to all venue owners who bring live music to the forefront and prioritize unforgettable experiences. by @emcurtmusic

Dolly 💔
Thank you for the music, but more importantly the light you brought into the music industry and the world.
I imagine resting in peace doesn’t mean you stop singing, so I can’t wait to hear all the music you write in heaven one day.
