Trying out new things, adding colours to my work for the first time. Here I am using butterfly to tell a story of hope and the possibility of change. The butterfly undergoes metamorphosis and changes itself. As humans we also have the capability to renew ourselves, typically the mind. The mind is capable of renewal no matter what it has undergone, science confirms that through neuroplasticity. Charcoal, graphite and colour pencils on cartridge paper by @emetuche_hillary
At the Private View of the Enfield Art Circle Exhibition @enfieldartscircle It was a great experience chatting and talking with fellow artists and learning about their work. The artwork, 364 Days and Tomorrow is currently showing. The exhibition runs from August 1st to 16th, 10am to 5pm at The Floristry Barn Capel Manor College @capelmanorgardensenfield NB: there's an entry charge Kindly pop in if you have a chance. Cheers! by @emetuche_hillary
What if the person you think you are… was partly written by everyone around you? Before we were old enough to understand ourselves, family, culture, experiences, even pain, began shaping our identity. But does what formed us have to define us forever? Like a butterfly, transformation begins from within. Paul calls it the renewing of the mind. Science calls it neuroplasticity. My work explores this question: Can we unlearn who we were told to be… and become who we were truly meant to be? by @emetuche_hillary
I’am exploring the idea of identity—who we are and how we become who we are. Think of a child like a brand-new notebook. Before we even understand ourselves, life begins writing on us—our family, environment, culture and experiences—all shaping the words we put after “I AM”. But here’s the question: Are we forever defined by what has been written on us, or can we rewrite our story? Through my next series of artworks, I’ll explore this through science, psychology and spirituality. Stay tuned. by @emetuche_hillary
I am honoured to be part of the @royalsocbritishartists @rbarisingstars Rising Stars 2026 exhibition at the Royal Overseas League @roslarts The drawing '27' tells a personal story of moving to the UK at that age which led to a shift in my belief system through intentional learning and unlearning. It was indeed an exciting evening to meet and share stories with other amazing artists. I am truly grateful to God, my family and friends. by @emetuche_hillary
