I know we are still installing (and my pics are lame) but I can’t help but post this Valentine to love and couples everywhere. She’s holding a pomegranate in one hand (eternity) and perfumed oil in the other—as this happy husband and wife enjoy eternity—sweetly. And together. Just one of many feels in The Etruscans: From the Heart of Ancient Italy @sama_art and from our colleagues @legionofhonor 💕💕 by @emilyjbneff

This roughly 3000-year old toiletry container, carved in wood to resemble a fawn, still contains remnants of makeup—yes, it is lead-based (don’t try at home!) tinged with pink pigments for that rosy glow on the cheeks. Just one of over 100 exquisite objects that bring to life The Etruscans: From the Heart of Ancient Italy @sama_art from our colleagues @legionofhonor by @emilyjbneff

It’s good to know that, about 3000 years later, we still love to play with our cats. Thinking of you, dear Manny, as we prepare to open The Etruscans @sama_art , thanks to the @legionofhonor in San Francisco. by @emilyjbneff

It’s happening @sama_art . Opening October 31: The Etruscans: From the Heart of Ancient Italy, organized by @deyoungmuseum in SF. Photos do not reflect beehive of activity with couriers and conservators and preparators and curators from around the world—the peeps who make it happen. Shout out to them and hopes for many Etruscan banquets in their future! 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌 by @emilyjbneff
