This Halloween, we're having an Organ Feast!! 🧠 🫀🫁🎃💀

For some reason, I just can't stop imagining human organs turned into food.

I've explored this idea before with my organ marshmallows and skin cake, but so many other food ideas have been sitting in my head, waiting to come to life.

And with Halloween around the corner, all that inspiration finally exploded at once!

So here they are—all the organs gathered around the table, enjoying a feast and chatting about... well, whatever organs talk about!

What do you think they're talking about?
Can you figure out what's on the menu? 👀

I'd love to hear what stories you imagine when you look at this illustration!

I probably won't be able to finish coloring it before Halloween. But hey, it could totally work as a Thanksgiving feast too! Hopefully I'll have it finished by Thanksgiving. 😆

Halloween is coming, and I just dug up this thing I made back in 2018. 👁️👄🧠🫀💀

They're Japanese marshmallows, filled with strawberry, apple, or chocolate. This set was incredibly hard to make — sourcing every little piece that matched in size and fit the style I had in mind took forever.

I once made a huge batch of them, and while packing them up, I kept feeling like some kind of organ dealer. 😂

Looking back, I can't quite believe my younger self pulled off something this labor-intensive. I just wanted to make them, so I did — that mix of naivety and passion you only really have at a certain age.

Maybe the idea that life should be more fun, and that it's okay to be a little crazy sometimes, has just always been in my DNA.

@thelancetgroup Rheumatology July cover: A butterfly taking flight. 🦋

This illustration was inspired by the characteristic butterfly-shaped rash seen in cutaneous lupus erythematosus (CLE) and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).

Purple is the awareness color for lupus, and the butterfly is closely associated with the disease because of its distinctive facial rash. I imagined the rash transforming into a purple butterfly and gently flying away from the patient's face, symbolizing the improvement of skin symptoms through treatment.

The willow branches surrounding the figure reference the WILLOW clinical trial, which investigated enpatoran, a treatment designed to reduce inflammation by inhibiting TLR7/8 signaling.

I wanted to capture a peaceful moment of healing, where the visible signs of disease gradually lift away, leaving a sense of calm and hope.

The final image is my quick butterfly study. 🙂

Today is World Sight Day 👁️
Here are some eyes I’ve drawn over the years. The first one is finished today. I’ve explored many possibilities!

Sight shapes so much of how we experience the world: how we observe, connect, remember, and imagine. Today is a good reminder not to take it for granted, and to care for the eyes that let us see it all.

Happy World Sight Day. 🤍

9/10 is World Suicide Prevention Day.

Sometimes, the mind carries more than anyone else can see.
Resting is not giving up. Reaching out is not weakness. And even in the heaviest moments, a small gesture of care - a conversation, a pause, a flower - can matter.

May we make a little more room for softness, for listening, and for one another.

You don’t have to carry everything alone. 🌼

Here is my latest illustration for the Fall Books 2026 issue of @sciencemagazine ! 📚

These books made me think about how our world is formed by different worldviews coming together across time and space. I also looked for descriptions of the subjects’ appearances before combining everything into one surreal landscape.

Here are the thought-provoking books and the elements in the illustration :
This Book May Cause Side Effects — A capsule held by one of the slime mold’s human hands represents the nocebo effect.

Under Story — A green-and-pink Arc glows above Antarctica, based on descriptions of its surreal, color-changing light over Antarctica.

Kobuk the Destroyer — A grizzly bear tests a “bear-resistant” cooler, an actual method used to test product durability.

Wither — A withering plant reflects the title and the novel’s abandoned world.

Tyrant Lizard Queen — A mother T. rex walks with her young, reflecting the book’s portrayal of dinosaurs caring for their offspring.

The Bullwhip’s Algorithm — Students travel along unequal paths, representing how AI can reinforce educational inequality.

Minds I’ve Met — A chimpanzee represents Frans de Waal’s exploration of animals’ complex inner lives.
A Wall Is Also a Road — The many-eyed slime mold represents Gardenpath, an extraterrestrial graduate student who takes on a human-like form to explore an unfamiliar world.

The Carbon Wave — A green wave rises behind the U.S. Capitol, carrying a young family. It represents the author starting a family while fighting for a better world for a better world for the next generation.

Thank you Noelle and the team for this meaningful project.

Here is my cover illustration for the June 2026 issue of The Lancet Rheumatology! ✨

When genetic codes unfold like slides, the paths of disease begin to diverge between men and women.

Systemic sclerosis is a chronic autoimmune disease characterized by progressive tissue scarring. Clinically, it presents a striking sex disparity: women are diagnosed far more often than men, with an approximately 8:1 female-to-male ratio, yet male patients often face a more severe disease course. This study dives deep into our DNA to explore how sex-specific genetic differences may contribute to these striking disparities.

Visual Details Behind the Piece:

- Glowing Points on the DNA Slides: The 7 glowing points along the female path represent the seven female-specific genetic loci identified in the study, while the single glowing point on the male path marks the one male-specific locus.
- 8:1 Patient Ratio: A total of 8 female figures and 1 male figure slide down toward the palm, mirroring the real-world female-to-male ratio of people affected by the disease.
- Pale Fingertips: The index and middle fingers on the supporting hand show characteristic whitening from restricted blood flow, depicting Raynaud’s phenomenon, a hallmark early symptom of the disease.
- Medicines in the Palm: The capsules cradled in the hand point toward the possibility of sex-aware precision medicine and more tailored treatments.

This one reminds me of The Starry Night. ✨

The last photo is my hand as a reference.

New items are here! ✨
Introducing brain earrings, a lung stethoscope charm, and a uterus stethoscope charm. All three can be personalized with engraving.

I care deeply about every detail, so each piece takes time to get just right. When I realized that the connecting ring was just 1 mm larger than specified in my design, I asked my manufacturer to remake it. That tiny difference matters—it helps keep the charm from moving around too much while the stethoscope is in use.

Oh my, I almost forgot to share this illustration on my IG after sharing on my FB.

This one is for The Atlantic, created for a review of The Elusive Body: Patients, Doctors, and the Diagnosis Crisis by Alexandra Sifferlin @acsifferlin, Health and Science Editor at The New York Times Opinion.

The Elusive Body is a thought-provoking and deeply humane examination of the diagnosis crisis in modern medicine. It explores misdiagnosis not simply as an occasional medical mistake, but as a structural crisis shaped by time pressure, an overreliance on tests and metrics, gaps in medical training, and failures in patient-doctor communication.

For the illustration, I focused on one central question: As medicine becomes better at seeing data, does it risk becoming worse at seeing the patient?

I layered scans, charts, test results, and medical images over the patient until the figure became partially obscured. Even the patient’s speech bubbles are covered by the data, suggesting that their voice is being lost within the system.

Because the subject is both serious and deeply human, I tried to balance heaviness with warmth through the color palette.

Thank you to AD Akshita Chandra @akshitachandra for the thoughtful collaboration.
