🥹With me every step 🫶🏼

Thank you to @runwithrally for creating such an incredible gift. This message played just before I saw them. I thought I had missed them. It made me cry but it made me run faster, then there they were, screaming my name in real life!

Along with 26 other voice notes from my incredible friends and family, played along the streets of NYC, Rally made me feel they were running alongside of me.

Thank you Anthony as well for the gifted @shokzusa headphones - that phone call will always stay with me!

🇺🇸It’s that New York energy 🇺🇸

5 boroughs with the ultimate party vibes, 5 bridges with the ultimate hills, many many more rolling hills but a crowd that dare I say was unmatched 🫶🏼🎉

I went into @nycmarathon to embrace it all. Turns out having fun, even with an injury, can be just as wild 🤩

PB 3:38:47 😭🤩🎉🫣 (9 mins faster than Berlin!)

Wow, this is going to take sometime to sink in 💛

I just ran New York!

(Full race recap coming soon)

🇺🇸 NYC 9977 🇺🇸

5 bridges to cross, 5 boroughs to see, 1 dodgy knee BUT zero time commitment. Here for the vibes, experience and hopefully that 3rd ⭐

Hoping to get through the concrete jungle and find that park tomorrow 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

A pleasure also to see my coach @tapcoachmeg here too. A total inspiration!

They say it takes a village to raise a child, what about a marathon runner? 🤣🙋🏻‍♀️

My training season is nearly over. Running content will be reduced and I have to say this last week has battered me beyond the storm.

Knee/hamstring injury from Berlin isn’t improving
Body is exhausted
Life has been lifeing so hard the last few weeks
But the last few months have only got me to now through my village

@tapcoachmeg 🏃🏻‍♀️ The coach (my plan, my nutrition, my mindset)
@domthephysio @recoverie.health 💪🏼 The Physio (my rehab, my care, plus the occasional pain!)
👯‍♀️ Friends for being my cheer squad, daily pep talks and listening to my constant injury woes
💛 Family for just getting this is a bucket list moment and for being so patient with my running mood swings

A marathon training block is lonely, out there on the runs. But the village is what gets us to that finish line!

🇺🇸 NYC … lets bring that ⭐ home 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

24km before the School run. Name a better way to start your morning … 🙋🏻‍♀️I’ll go first…

🛌 staying in bed
☕️ having a warm cuppa
🛋️ sitting on the sofa
🍾 sipping champagne
💆🏻‍♀️ a morning massage

The list can go on! 🤣

Knee injury is niggling, mornings are dark, life decisions are being questioned over & over. Im still here and still ready for @nycmarathon

Remember my goal is to raise as much money for @childrenwithcanceruk for these two marathons! If you can, please click on the link in my bio

Thank you everyone for all the support. 2.5 weeks and we run NEW YORK 🍎

Ps had to follow this trend as i’m obsessed with the choreography though will never attempt myself!

Shoutout to our superstar @emmag_bounce

Emma is 40, a mum of two, and chasing the World Marathon Majors stars.

Two marathons close together. Berlin, then New York.

But there was a problem.

A painful back injury that just wouldn’t settle.

Her physio told her the tightest hips and glutes he’d seen in a long time. No running for at least four weeks.

Fast forward....

She first messaged me last November. Life, work and injury got in the way. But she kept coming back.

Her own words:

“I’ve looked at so many other coaches and feel you have the understanding.”

Six months later, we got there.

We got to work.

Strength sessions built around her home gym. Easy runs kept truly easy (even when she said it felt like walking. Fuelling, pacing, a plan that moved around her trips, her kids, her job and her back.

Someone in her corner every single week.

Then, a week before Berlin, she sent me this:

“I’m a 40 year old woman just trying to catch some stars and your guidance has changed that to be actually I’m 40 years old doing something incredible.”

“Turns out I can smash a PB in Berlin, on a comeback from a back injury and have no pain at all... The human touch has so much more impact.”

She came in with a sore back, juggling everything, and doubting herself.

She left with a Berlin PB, and New York next.

If you’re injured, juggling a busy life, and not sure you can make it to the start line:

DM me GOALS.

Let’s get you there. by @emmag_bounce

Finding me a cup of ambition for this 9-5 marathon mid life crisis training block ….

🇩🇪 Berlin Recap 🇩🇪

This montage was going to be put together with an uplifting soundtrack. But who was it that really got me over the line? My incredible Virtual Cheer Squad 🫶🏼🥹 the best support pushing me through even when in the trenches and @hinkyrowe on the ground to pick me up at the end! I know that running isn’t for everyone and appreciate it can be boring if you’re not doing it, but having people understand why you do it and support you with such challenges, those are your people!

Marathon running can be very lonely, but on race day the crowds shout LOUD no matter where they are 🥰

💜💛🧡 £1,500 raised so far for @childrenwithcanceruk

☀️ A sunny and hot day

💨 A fast half at 1:42

⛑️ An injury at 22km

💦 The hardest water stations known to man

😑 The heaviest of TOTM days (why?!?!)

🇩🇪 A journey of two halves ⭐

The plan, the flight of the first half 💨, the hearts from my kids for the second half, the splits say it all…

⭐ ⭐ 3:47 we leave it in Berlin

It’s been a long, hot, cruel summer 🏃🏻‍♀️ ☀️

My journey to this marathon started before the training, it started with the injury, the pause, the rehab and physio. What seemed impossible is suddenly becoming a reality. 🫣😳

🏃🏻‍♀️ a lot of miles ran
🌡️ average temps for all runs 27-30 degrees
⏰ many 430am starts
👧🏼 👦🏼 school holiday juggle
🥯 too many bagels to count

Part 1 of 2 marathons is on the horizon & looking fierce 🇩🇪

This journey wouldn’t be without @tapcoachmeg & @domthephysio for their guidance and expertise! 💛

All that’s left now is to catch a flight and run 42.2km!

@berlinmarathon LFG! 🇩🇪 😭🫠🫣🎉🤪😑🔥

32km = Run🏃🏻‍♀️ fast to get it over with 🔥🤪

I look happy and that’s all you need to know 🤣🫠

Three weeks until 🇩🇪 & 8 weeks until 🇺🇸 please 🙏🏼 support me and @childrenwithcanceruk
