There was a period of time, like many a time gone before, where David was doing audition tape after audition tape and getting so close yet so far from a role he imagined himself doing next. Then there was a flurry of different auditions in one go! 😵‍💫 The bits you don’t see of “successful actors” …. our bathroom and this is a day we recorded his tape for #thediplomat. 🥹 It has great lighting! He loved it as soon as he read it. He kept pushing, didn’t give up on his goal and I am SO SO proud of him I can’t go on about it enough because I know how much time and effort he puts in to his career & also trying to maintain his sanity and health in the process. I’m sure there might be a podcast on it soon…🤔😉 If you haven’t watched #thediplomat on #netflix then be sure to check it out! It’s something I know he’s unbelievably proud to be a part of, and it’s SO GOOD!!!! David’s Podcast episode along with some other amazing interviews available wherever you get your podcasts from! 💜💛 #davidgyasi #thediplomat #netflix #auditions #acting #actinglife #health #fitness #wellbeing #strongblacklead #britishactor🇬🇧 by @emmagyasi

Trying to write something that isn’t ick. But I’m genuinely just grateful for kind people. Did a keynote for the first time. Good egg. Proud friends. Puppy! God in nature. Twinning. Another good egg! My man the most dignified! My world. Zooms with amazing women! Gifts for amazing women. View of dreams. Bed. Even more good eggs! 🥚✨🙏💫💞 by @emmagyasi

Such a special day at @glyndebourne! Final night of Billy Budd with incredibly powerful performances, a stunning set, beautiful costumes and amazing attention to detail all around from a brilliantly talented and dedicated team. But Glyndbeourne isn’t just about the opera, it’s about the whole experience...the stunning (if currently parched) country gardens, fabulous food and, of course, wonderful company so thank you to @annabel_croft, @thedavidgyasi, @emmagyasi and @the_urban_fox for making it such a memorable day 🎭🥂 by @emmagyasi

Quite inspired by Victoria Beckham and her documentary. Almost a year ago- first time I tried on and purchased a VB dress. As much as I love them, I didn’t think the clothes would be for me coz I’m not on the telly or anything and when I was 18 at the same postpartum stage, I watched her live in that TFI Friday episode where Chris Evan’s put her on the scales. I didn’t question the ethics of it all but what I remember thinking was “oh shit well I’m nowhere near what she weighs or looks like” That’s that. Feels so ridiculous now looking back. Anyway- cut to 25 years later & the way I felt when I put that dress on! I love that it fit me the way it did. I felt like ME! I don’t need to look or feel like anyone else or be smaller or taller or bigger etc. To my surprise, the dress and the material just worked with me:) I also felt so privileged to be able to purchase it, partly because that 18 year old teen mum wasn’t quite sure what the future looked like. I think the biggest take away from the doc and this memory that was triggered is -be true to yourself, listen to your gut, just do you & you’ll be all good. VB did that yet she was underestimated time and time again. This is also just a chance to share the dress again because I don’t know when I will wear it again! 😂 by @emmagyasi
