The Highlights | Uchafbwyntiau – Sŵn Adre Part 8 | Rhan 8

The Highlights

I’ve been saving this one.

I can’t believe it’s been two weeks already.

So many of the moments I’ve shared over the past week come to life in this little video. The laughter, the tears, the music, the hugs, the conversations… it’s all here.

Capturing the warmth, emotion and atmosphere of an entire evening in less than 90 seconds can’t be easy, but Amy somehow managed it perfectly.

Every time I watch it, I’m reminded why Sŵn Adre will always mean so much to me.

Thank you to the amazing Amy @theprettycapture_ , for capturing not just what the evening looked like, but what it felt like.

I hope you enjoy this little trip back to 18th July as much as I do.

Here it is! My favourite song of all time ❤️🥺

This song is magic, I feel every single word. To have @bronwenlewis accompany me was an absolute dream come true. I cannot thank her enough for allowing me this opportunity and for believing in me.

Listen to the words of the last verse ‘tears and fears and feeling proud, to say I love you right out loud’…’something’s lost, but something’s gained, in living everyday’ ❤️ they hit home.

A song of hope, reflection, happiness and sadness. The thing I love most about this song is that people can interpret it in whatever way they feel. I’ve loved it for years, but I remember the healing it brought to me when I watched it on @rickygervais afterlife. @jonimitchell you are an inspiration and I feel so blessed to share my version. I hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed performing this.

Diolch @fieldgatestudio for another amazing recording 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

A little call out for 2027! 🎶

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what I’d love to do more of next year, and one of those things is definitely getting out there and sharing more of my own music!

So, I thought I’d put this out there and see what happens!

I’d absolutely love the opportunity to support other artists at their gigs in 2027. Whether that’s a small, intimate gig or a theatre show, I’d love to come along and share a few of my songs and the stories behind them.

For anyone who doesn’t know me, I’m a bilingual singer-songwriter from South Wales. My music is very much acoustic, storytelling kind of vibes, and I’d love the chance to reach some new audiences!

Ideally, I’m looking for a 20–30 minute opening set, and I’m more than happy to travel further afield too!

So, if you’re an artist planning some shows next year, or you know somebody who might be looking for a support act, please do get in touch. Even just sharing this post or tagging somebody would mean a lot!

You never know unless you ask, do you? 🤍

Diolch o galon!

✨🏰 A Little Disney Magic | Part 1 🏰✨

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing some of my favourite Disney songs, stripped right back.

🎶 Song: You’ll Be in My Heart
🎬 Film: Tarzan (1999)

A beautiful song that’s also become a popular choice for wedding ceremonies, particularly for those special moments walking down the aisle. 🤍

No studio. No effects. No editing. Just a completely raw, one-take recording and a slightly bright filter lol because I was feeling ill recording this!

Sometimes, the simplest versions tell the biggest stories. ✨

Sharing this song feels very different to anything I’ve ever shared before. 🤍

I’m not asking you to stream it. I’m simply asking you to take a few minutes to read every single word.

Behind these lyrics are real people, real memories and stories that have stayed with me. Stories shared by the families of Aberfan, both personally and with the wider world, that have inspired the words I’ve written.

The opening line, about tying laces by the door, was inspired by the heartbreaking story shared by a mother, who spoke of her daughter wanting to wear her new shoes to school, but never getting the chance.

It’s a small detail of an ordinary childhood, made unimaginably painful by what happened next.

The song is written from the perspective of a parent watching their child leave home, unaware that it would be the last time.

It reflects on sixty years of grief. On the parents who have since passed away, who we can only hope have been reunited with their children, and those who are still here, carrying that loss sixty years later.

These aren’t just lyrics. They are inspired by real lives, real love and stories that deserve to be remembered.

Tomorrow marks 60 years since the Aberfan disaster. Today, I’m sharing the full lyric video for We Will Not Forget.

I hope you’ll take a moment to read the words and remember the people behind them.

For Aberfan. Always. 🕊️

Some stories deserve to be told. Some voices deserve to be heard. And some memories must never fade.

For the first time, here is the chorus of my original song - We Will Not Forget.

Written in remembrance of the children, teachers and families affected by the Aberfan disaster, and the love that has endured through 60 years of grief.

Some have carried their memories for 60 years. Others have since passed on, with the hope that somewhere, somehow, they’ve been reunited.

And for those still here, that love has never left.

These are some of the most heartfelt lyrics from We Will Not Forget. A song about loss, love and the connections that time can never break. ❤️

Behind every lyric is a story. 🤍

A small glimpse into the words of We Will Not Forget, written in remembrance of the children, teachers and families of Aberfan.

Some moments in time are never forgotten. 🕊️

Finding the right way to share a song about such a heartbreaking tragedy so close to home has been difficult. But this song was never written for anything other than remembrance — to tell a story through music, with sensitivity, love and respect for those whose lives were forever changed.

We Will Not Forget — an original song in memory of the children, teachers and families of Aberfan.

Coming 21.10.2026.

60 years on. We will not forget. 🤍 by @emmawintercanu

I wrote this song for anyone who has lost someone and longs to know that they’ve been reunited with a loved one ❤️

My Nanna lost her mother at 15 years of age. She died at 87. I’ll never comprehend how she navigated through her life without her mother, but I get comfort from the thought of them being reunited now 🥹 by @emmawintercanu

Walking into autumn 🍂 with so much creativity and excitement.

Following a few dreams, writing a few new stories… and seeing just how far they’ll go 🏰
