@hitthenorth_ stoomt artiesten uit Drenthe, Groningen en Friesland klaar voor een professionele carrière. De in totaal negen acts volgen meerdere bootcamps met een programma afgestemd op de behoeftes van de acts, meerdere workshopdagen, excursies en shows, met ESNS als grandioze afsluiter. Uit het arsenaal van 2026 komen o.a. The Last Mandrill en MOMSNAME, die vanavond hun opwachting maken.

The Last Mandrill bleef als enige over van The Mandrills, ooit een sonisch kelderkruipertje uit Groningen. Hij mengt zijn alternatieve collagepop, die haar oorsprong vindt in de smeltpot van de jaren ’90 en het hier en nu, tot een futurofobische wereldvisie waarin nostalgie en wanhoop de confrontatie aangaan met wat komen gaat. Live ontvouwt zich een mythische realiteit: sirenezang ontmoet distorted chaos en onverwachte klankexperimenten, waardoor elk optreden zowel intiem als meeslepend is. Met zijn nieuwe EP in het vooruitzicht, komt hij met zijn experimentele, atonale soundscape en een loepzuiver stemgeluid naar Simplon.

@momsnamemusic
MOMSNAME is een vierkoppige band uit Leeuwarden die alt-rock verweeft met shoegaze-, emo- en mathrock invloeden. Hun muziek draait om kwetsbaarheid, verlies en de transformatie die daaruit ontstaat.

@eolithmusic
Binnen de wereld van dreamrock brengt Eolith een vleugje melancholie met daarbij een snufje grunge. De in Groningen gevestigde band heeft in korte tijd, met veel inspiratie, een reeks aan originele nummers geschreven.

Ze spelen drie keer (20:00 / 21:00 / 22:00), dus je kunt er ook nog twee andere acts bij meepakken. stay tuned voor meer over de rest van de line-up 👀

Eolith is een indie rockband uit Groningen, Nederland, opgericht in oktober 2024 door vijf studenten. Hun sound combineert grunge-invloeden met melancholische en dromerige sferen, wat resulteert in rauwe liveshows die schakelen tussen zwaar en hypnotiserend. Geïnspireerd door bands als Radiohead, Deftones, Crumb en The Smashing Pumpkins, wordt Eolith nu al vergeleken met Slint en Duster vanwege hun rauwe en gelaagde aanpak. Met plannen voor hun eerste professionele opnames in volle gang, richt de band zich op het behouden van een eerlijke, oprechte sound die recht uit het hart komt, en het neerzetten van ongefilterde performances.
