Last full day in Kyoto so we decided to go all out! I’ve done kimono rentals before during previous trips, but decided I wanted to try something different. This is a furisode (振袖) which is a formal-type of kimono that is worn at coming-of-age ceremonies, wedding, and other special occasions. The fabric on this thing is THICK, but the designs and feel are so stunning in person. I was kinda in shock with how many steps it took to put together a furisode vs a more casual kimono. Just when I thought it was done, MORE layers were placed. I could barely bend, move, let alone breathe 🤪 idk how ppl could wear this the entire day at weddings or ceremonies cuz I was losing my mind right after our shoot LMAOO We did a photoshoot package with our kimono rentals and yall, I can’t WAIT to share those!! Our photographer had great direction, framing was 10/10 and more importantly he knew how to get the shot in the super crowded areas. In the mean time, here’s some phone pics @kaerukairu took of us (also a wonderful photographer hehe 😊) #japan #japantrip #kimono #furisode #kyoto by @epi.ffany_
