My dad…it’s the first year I can’t call to wish him happy birthday. Last year on this day I learned he was in the hospital when I made my usual call for his birthday. A doctor answered because he had fallen and been hospitalized. I’m grateful he consented to come to California so that I could have him close and do all I could to keep him as comfortable as possible which involved root beer and ice cream and why the hell not?! I guess that makes it sound easy. It was also a lot of elder care/Parkinsons education, the right eldercare specialists, fighting with Medicare and?! no words. It’s complicated and that’s difficult- pretty much every day ❤️‍🩹 That’s how love is and I loved him well while I could. by @epixiee

Happy 4th!
I’m gifting our sofa/ bed. It’s from living spaces, bought it for the rental and someone broke the sofa bed mechanism on one side. It’s still a pretty good sofa and sofabed, I’ll just need to show you how to fold it back in- needs a tweak but works fine. I carried it with one strong helper, but it’s heavy and needs a bit of finesse getting out the front door. Just thought I’d offer it here before dumping (in the spirit of conservation)
