Introducing co-host #2, @ericconnermarlin

Eric Marlin (they/them) is a queer, Jewish playwright, educator, and unabashed little horror freak. Their plays are kinda like haunted houses, even when there aren’t literal ghosts. They went to high school in Orange County, California (“behind the Orange curtain” as we used to say), where they developed a healthy sense of ennui. Afterwards, they went to college in Vermont, where writers live in the woods. Nowadays they live in Brooklyn, with their husband (co-host Luke Daniel White) and their two perfect cats. Their favorite teen movie is the light rom-com Heathers

From the bottom of our hearts, eternal thanks to every one of you who came to see our show this summer at @thetanknyc. ❤️

Our team is actively working on the next step in the journey of this show, but to make that possible, we first need to cover a $2000 budget deficit from our summer run.

If you loved our show (or missed our show 👀) and want to see it return, we would greatly appreciate any donation you can offer, big or small.

As a thanks, we’ll send you a very pretty 5”x7” print of our show poster. 🖼️

Helen Shaw said @whataworldplay is “NOT-TO-MISS” which I truly cannot believe.

Press and reviews and marketing are silly but to have such serious attention given to a show we’ve spent 7 years building, by a critic I respect so completely… it feels good I’ll say it!!

Overwhelming gratitude for everyone who made this show: our performers Queen-Tiye Akamefula and @insta_grannie_ our designers @meganmaeelise and @skyemahaffie our stage management team @bar_bar55 @symphonys_mum @austinwhitetheatre plus our socials expert @aelizbowman and our poster designer @_graceella__ . You’re all fierce fucking geniuses.

Cannot say enough good things about the whole Tank team but especially @meghanjeanfinn and @lloydstagramgetit who have championed this show for literally years now.

And a special thanks to my two partners in crime, collaboration, and chaos, @accordingtoluke and Ilana Khanin (who is mysterious and not on socials).

We run for two more weeks at @thetanknyc and I sincerely hope you’ll come.

Since January, I have been writing a new play every day, and sharing them publicly (eek!). Each play responds to a different mitzvot, or Jewish commandment.

It's been a joyful process wrestling with these ideas and sharing my work in real time. My goal is to reach 100 plays, and we just hit 75 today!

Swipe through for a sampling of the project. If you're not already following along, I hope you'll subscribe and join me for the final 25 plays!
