No, Pilates teachers do not actually do the workout while teaching a class. It’s not their workout, it the clients’.

You’re providing a service. Your hair stylist doesn’t do their hair while you’re in the chair. Your waxer doesn’t wax themselves while you’re there, and your injector doesn’t give themselves a little pop while you’re there. It’s the same. People paid for your eyes and expertise, not to watch you exercise.

You can’t increase the challenge, progress, regress clients safety and efficiently while you’re focused on yourself.

As a teacher trainer, and a person who invests in her clients’ results, this is a battle I choose.

Good thing this loft is on the old fire hall?

While I don’t necessarily recommend burning your life to the ground, I also highly recommend burning your life to the ground.

The cat doesn’t help at all, no one is coming to save you.

That was my last swim upstream by myself. The new timeline is tangible.

He believed that consistent practice changes the way your body functions. The way you breathe. The way you carry yourself. The way your muscles engage, your joints move, and your body feels in everyday life.

The only question is, when are you starting?

And if you are ready to commit to something bigger this summer, we have three reformer programs running over the next few months.

Would you sign an exclusivity contract? It’s an F-No for me, but please share your thoughts either way because it helps other teachers make these decisions. Weekly training starting Tuesday @the.edithq !

I talk about these things in my trainings. I want you to be prepared for all things Pilates teachers should know.

Can’t see it unless they paid for your training, in which case maybe but be careful! I know of people who will add caveats and treat you like crap during the contracted period.

Let me know what you think!! #pilates #reformer #pilatesreformertraining #teachpilates by @erika_ferguson_

How does everyone feel about teaching exercises you’re unable to do yourself?

I”m on the fence.

I do believe that a lot of authentic cueing comes from self discovery during your own practice, however, there are so many similar shapes in all of the exercises and I’d you have a good understanding of the work… thoughts?

Train with me! Starting next week @the.edithq
