POSTS STORIES REELS

HYPE WOMEN don’t sit on the sidelines quietly clapping.

We show up.
We take action.
We participate.

Today is a day to celebrate the magic of our collective power— the power of women who care deeply about our communities, our democracy and the future we’re creating together.

Liking posts matters.
Sharing information matters.
Amplifying the voices of people doing meaningful work matters.

And NONE of those actions replaces the power of casting a ballot.

Our democracy is shaped by the choices we make, the communities we build and the ways we participate.

Every one of us has a role to play.

And when individual acts of participation ripple through our families, friendships and communities, they have the potential to become a tidal wave of transformational change.

We want to hear from you.

Tell us how you’re showing up for your community today.
Tell us what you care most about.
Tell us you voted.

Together, we will make the world a better place.

Democracy is not something
we achieve once

It’s something we consent to
with our actions
every single day

On Wednesday, Brian and I early voted

And we took our 10 and eight-year-old boys with us

62% of young people
learn about elections
from their families

Our children are learning about democracy
long before they’re old enough to cast a ballot

They’re listening to our conversations
They’re watching how we participate
They’re learning what it means to have a voice

After working for 107 days
on @kamalaharris’ presidential campaign
(without being asked or paid to do it)
I made a decision for myself
when we didn’t win

I would shift

my attention
my energy
my work
my time
my focus

from the macro
to the micro

To the things that I could control

my body
my home
my family
my circle of friends
my community
my business

Because I believed—and I still do—
that if each of us takes care of ourselves
and the people around us

we will create such a seismic shift
in the way our country and world operate

that the things we are fighting for
out there

will become the way we are living
in here

The beautiful message
in my second photo
written by @cleowade
hangs above the first step
of our stairwell

I look at it every day

I know so many of us
are doing the work

taking care of our families
our communities
ourselves

It’s the most beautiful
least glamorized
cultural transformation work
and human evolution
of our lifetime

It matters
Please
keep doing it

I see you
I support you
I have your back

Every vote counts

And we don’t just vote
on election day

We vote
with the choices we make
every day
that ends in “y”

Happy 1-year book birthday to me 💖

I learned a lot about the publishing industry.
I learned a lot about what it takes to sell a book.
I learned a lot about the power of intuition.

But most importantly, I learned a lot about myself.

More on that in book #2.

America 👏 has 👏 spoken 👏

🌊🌊🌊

And today is for celebrating! ✨

For every organizer, activist, volunteer, candidate, public servant and everyday American who has poured their heart into making our democracy stronger…

For the people who knocked on doors, made phone calls, had difficult conversations, brought their children to the polls and showed up for their communities…

For everyone who kept believing in the possibility of a more diverse, inclusive and equitable America…

WE DID IT!

Today, we celebrate US.

And soon, we’ll get back to work.

Because the future we envision will require all of us roe-roe-rowing our boats in the same direction—across a blue sea of our collectice hope.

We will collectively shift what we’re fighting for—out there—to the way we are living—in here.

There’s more to come from me.
I know there’s more to come from you.
But what I’m most excited about is what’s to come from US.

I love you, America. 🇺🇸💙

STACEY ABRAMS.

Last night‘s results
are not possible
without Stacey Abrams

She planted the seeds
that became the harvest

We owe her everything

Black women have always protected our democracy
Black women have always organized communities
Black women have always had our back

We owe them everything

@taibeau and I have a message for you:

SLAY—and STAY in line 👯‍♀️

The polls are closing soon
If you are in line, stay in line
You have the right to cast your ballot

Let’s do this America!

Side note:
why have professional photos taken
if you can’t repurpose them
for Election Day Hype?

Asking for a friend.

In case you missed our Instagram Live this morning, we’ve got you covered! 💜

Two years ago, @mrs.frazzled and I met when we joined hundreds of thousands of women for the historic “White Women Answer the Call” virtual event in support of Kamala Harris.

A LOT has changed since then.

We’ve changed.
We’ve grown.
We’ve learned.

And we’ve come to understand that you can’t change someone’s identity in four days — or even four years.

So today, we’re focusing our energy on the people

who believe in democracy
who believe in a more diverse, equitable America
who believe in the civil servants working to make our communities and our country better

—AND who are still considering sitting out the midterms

We see you.
We understand.
We’ve been there.

And we’re calling you IN.

Because democracy isn’t something we achieve once.

It’s something we consent to with our actions every single day.

We sat down today to reflect on the past two years, what we’ve learned about ourselves and what becomes possible when we make different choices.

Our invitation is simple:

Don’t sit this one out.

Your voice matters.
Your participation matters.
Your vote matters.

With love and solidarity,

Erin + Arielle 💜

This is not a call out.
It’s a call in.

We know
there are so many of you
who believe in our democracy
and who want to make America
a better place

And yet
are still planning
to sit the midterms out

Maybe you’re telling yourself:

“I live in a blue state.”
“My candidate is so far ahead in the polls.”
“One vote isn’t going to make a difference.”

But think about what happens
when tens
hundreds
thousands
tens of thousands
hundreds of thousands
millions
tens of millions
of people
all have
that exact same thought

and all stay home

Then we have a big problem on our hands.

We’re here to tell you: we’ve been there.

We have both been non-voters.
We both understand the mentality.
We both understand the danger in opting out.

And now we understand what happens when good people disengage and hand their power away.

So we’re here to encourage you
call you in
and invite you
to use the power
that you have

Pour into your community.
Pour into our democracy.
Cast the vote that only you can cast.

If you weren’t planning to vote today
we are asking you
woman to woman
to make a different choice

Your vote matters.
Your voice matters.
Your participation matters.

Vote today.

#vote #midterms #democracy #electionday by @erin.gallag.her

I voted in my first midterm election in 2018.

I was 36 years old.

For the first 16 years I was eligible to vote, I sat the midterms out.

I didn’t pay attention.
I didn’t understand how much they mattered.
I thought someone else would take care of it.

I’ve learned a lot since then.

Including this:

Democracy is not something we achieve once.
It’s something we consent to with our actions every single day.

And everything begins at home.

With ourselves.

Our families.
Our friends.
Our communities.

I believe that when each of us takes care of ourselves and the people around us, we create a seismic shift in the way our country and world operate.

The things we’re fighting for out there
become the way we’re living in here.

Yesterday, I sat down for 22 minutes to share my experience, what I’ve learned and why civic participation matters so deeply to me.

I see you.
I support you.
I have your back.

Hey white women

I’m not here to call you out
I’m here to call you in

We represent the largest voting block
It is time we get this right

Foot soldiers to the patriarchy
Will always be sacrificed first

Don’t confuse proximity to power
With safety or control

The midterms matter
Every vote counts

Please do the right thing
And vote left
up and down the ballot
