Malibu Mornings 🌴 by @eskibarrr
How do I keep myself in shape while getting older and spending so much time travelling? Honestly, the answer is pretty simple: find things you enjoy doing. For me, the trick has been making exercise something I actually look forward to. So what does my week actually look like? There are really only two sessions where I’m trying to push myself properly. I do one calisthenics session where I push myself. Getting stronger and progressively overloading. & One track session where I push my limits and improve my threshold. Those are the sessions where I know I need to turn up and do the work. The rest are about keeping moving, greasing the groove and, most importantly, having fun. Like going for a surf. And that makes a huge difference. I genuinely look forward to Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I’m excited to surf, play around with cali skills — and basketball will forever be my favourite thing. Then Tuesday and Thursday? I don’t always want to do them 😂 But I know they’re the two sessions that will move me closer to my goals. If I miss one, I’ve wasted a valuable opportunity I deliberately carved out of my week, and I know I’ll be disappointed. That’s what motivates me to get them done properly, even when I don’t feel like it. That’s the biggest lesson I’ve learned on my fitness journey. Make it easy enough to stay consistent, and do the hard work when it matters. Consistency compounds. by @eskibarrr
