magical morning with Lieke. by @esmee.eva
I’ve been absent for a few months. needed some time away from this account, so I took a little break from sharing. there are currently so many photographers around us. we’ve acces to endless content, the faster the better. over the past few weeks I’ve been thinking a lot about what it is that drives me as a photographer. what it is that leaves me fulfilled. I realized I missed working on personal projects. without thinking about what I could use for my personal branding or what was gonna get me more likes or followers. I find it hard to keep a healthy balance between commissioned work and personal work. while it is equally important, I felt like I needed to make more time for personal projects. to get the creativity flowing again. so this summer I took on some ideas close to my heart, and just went with it. by @esmee.eva
it has been a while since I shared some work. so far the intention to share more frequently.. I feel like my focus nowadays is writing. I’ve never been really good at focusing on multiple projects at once so all my energy goes into finishing this book lately. Although I’m nowhere near finishing it, still, the process of writing is giving me the same peace and comfort as when I started taking self-portraits. It’s my way of self expression and discovery. It feels really good to be able to work on that with such a soft approach and patience for once. 🕊️ by @esmee.eva
we somehow got trapped in autumn, so we might as well enjoy it and make it extra comfortable. by @esmee.eva
since it’s spring, the sun rising at 5:15 and it only appearing during early morning hours or at the end of the day - cause it is still raining a lot - I decided it’s time to start my morning routine again. no longer going on a 10 minute stroll around the neighborhood but starting every day with a walk in the forest, for at least an hour, preferably longer. slowly waking up to the smell of trees and sound of birds chirping. took my camera with me as I got blessed with a beautiful orange sky and luminescent leafs. by @esmee.eva
I am one of the many dutch citizens who is constantly hoping for some sun, complaining about this rainy weather. but I no longer want to be. it’s not giving me any renewed nor positive energy. So I started looking for moments that are still there despite of this extended winter and wrote this list of things that put a smile on my face; • butterflies • flowering trees • the smell of a bakery • lot drinking from puddles • hugs and cuddles • the sound of rain • burning candles • making myself coffee in the morning • seeing my friends thrive • portraying people • blueberries • smiles from a stranger • long walks in the forest • hands on both cheeks while getting kissed • the moon • a cup of chamomile tea by @esmee.eva
