My first solo exhibition!!!!

I invite you to come and consult a speculative contemporary oracle! What message from the divine will the machine channel for you?

Thursday 29th October, from 7pm @mesalt74 welcomes Witness Node, the interactive installation I showcased at Sónar+D / Expo+D 2026, alongside documentation of the research and creation process and a new projection work built on a speculative divination algorithm.

The exhibition traces the relation between ancestral divination systems, among them Ifá and Afa, and the recursive binary procedures that underlie modern computation. It questions two assumptions at once: that science and spirituality are separate domains, and that tradition is a form of regression.

On view until 14th November

La meva primera exposició individual i que millor que a casa! Us convido a venir a consultar un oracle especulatiu contemporani.

Don't you feel like there is something more? by @essencelab.works

How I made a biomaterial with orange peel waste <3 It smells so good too!

For years I had to work mostly behind a screen. Something tangible was missing and watching an interview with Zena Hitz and through experimentation made me realize this. There's something wholesome in working with materials: the encounter with limitation, with things that resist what you want it to be. That resistance is actually the sign something is going right, you've touched "reality".

The more I bring physicality into my practice, the more I connect with the fact that matter is alive in its own way. Its own energy, its own agency, its own resistance. A critical and grounding dialogue that brings harmony. by @essencelab.works

'Witness Node' part of Sonar+D at @sonarfestival 2026❤️

Thank you to everyone who passed by!! by @essencelab.works

The 18th & 19th of June I'll be presenting my latest project ‘Witness Node’ at Expo+D, part of Sonar+D @sonarfestival in Barcelona.

A speculative computational ritual and phygital sculpture functioning as a contemporary divination oracle, translating ancient probability-based spiritual technologies into an algorithmic system. The system uses Broox vision node, Touchdesigner and Arduino.

This project is inspired by research into ancient technological objects and rituals, particularly the Opele chain and the mechanics of Ifa divination in Yoruba tradition and Afa, the Eʋe (Ewe) expression of Ifa. In West Africa and other diasporic communities in the world.

Both are grounded in a complex binary-based system which, as Ojo Oyebisi argues in 'The Mechanics of Ifa Divination System', these traditions were among the first to formulate binary complementarity as a coherent intellectual structure, a principle later identified by Niels Bohr as foundational to physics and quantum mechanics. It stands as one of humanity's most significant intellectual contributions.

I ask myself, what if we explored the current stages in the developmental process of technological knowledge? The installation challenges dominant narratives of linear progress, inviting us to reimagine technology built on relational ontology rather than extraction, and to open space for more counter-narratives. What else do indigenous knowledge systems hold that we haven't acknowledged yet?

Thank you again to @megborna for introducing me to his community in Anloga, Ghana and for the time we spent reflecting on these matters together.

I've been developing a phygital interactive light sculpture, a piece of furniture that creates an intentional healing space at home, where you can honor your ancestors, nurture your present, and manifest the reality you wish to live.

Using Arduino, a presence sensor, and LED strips, the piece responds as you approach. A sequence of light is activated, serving as a vessel to communicate with the forces of nature. The sequence runs for about two minutes, but through the software, you can change the duration and animations to make your own practice.

It's a conversation between art, design, and technology, exploring humanity's ancient practice of crafting sacred objects and spaces.

Planning for a shared healing experience for when I return to Ghana (since the artwork is there atm), would love more people to try <3 by @essencelab.works

Connecting with the Anlo-Eʋe (Ewe) community with @kialakanzi in Anloga through Megborna @megborna , a multidisciplinary artist and PhD candidate at the Department of Fine Art and Curatorial Studies (formerly Dept. of Painting and Sculpture), KNUST, whose work explores the flow between sound, ancestral traditions and contemporary practice.

I had the profound opportunity to consult my life path (Kpoli/Du) through AFA, the Eʋe (Ewe) expression of what the Yoruba also have as Ifá divination.

AFA is an ancient geomantic system operating on a binary structure very similar to modern computing. It utilizes 256 signs derived from a duality of states; 16 principal signs combine to form 256 unique configurations (2^8 = 256), creating a comprehensive dataset of ancestral wisdom.

Beyond its mathematical elegance, AFA serves as a vital bridge for communication with the spiritual realm.

Recognized by UNESCO as a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity, it remains one of the world's most sophisticated repositories of indigenous knowledge.

Thankful to be expanding my research on the threads between ancestral traditions and Western knowledge systems. by @essencelab.works

Unit 001 @gwestsuperstar by @essencelab.works

‘Heritage imprint’ refers to the deep, often unconscious mark left on an individual by their ancestral lineage, cultural environment, and collective memory.

It represents the way a person is inherently tied to a larger system — a community, a land, a history — both shaped by and contributing to it.

This imprint carries the dual forces of support and struggle, love and limitation, passed down through generations. It acknowledges that positive and negative influences coexist within this inheritance, creating a dynamic balance that forms the fabric of life.

Through this imprint, the individual is not only conditioned by their environment but also connected to a shared destiny: to participate in the evolution of the collective, heal old patterns, and contribute to meaningful change. by @essencelab.works

'Heritage Imprint' is a creative project blending set design, fashion, and visual art into an intimate trascendental moment.

It features @gwestsuperstar wearing 'Inception 001' , one of the debut limited 3 pieces from @aworstudios available from tomorrow 8PM.

The work explores the quiet marks left on us by our roots—our ancestry, our culture, our collective memory. These inherited imprints carry both love and struggle, showing how we can transform what has shaped us into something more authentic, more aligned, and part of a greater whole.
