One of the questions I get asked the most is, “Why are you hosting trips with Trova?”

The truth is… before I ever became a host, I was a traveler.

And honestly? I probably had a lot of the same worries you’re having right now.

“What if I don’t fit in?”

“What if everyone already knows each other?”

“What if I’m awkward?”

“What if I don’t feel safe traveling?”

Those thoughts are real.

When @riot.risque and I signed up for our first @trovatrip Trip, we weren’t just looking for a vacation. We wanted to challenge ourselves to build community outside of our hometown. We wanted to make genuine friendships. And as queer people, we wanted to know we could travel and feel safe being exactly who we are.

Since then, we’ve traveled through Ecuador, explored Vietnam with Sam and Justine (@thegoldonqueers ), and this past spring I had the chance to join Sam (@samesamxbutdifferent )again for an incredible trans masc trip through Thailand.

Every single trip reminded me that the destination is amazing… but it’s the people that make it unforgettable.

I got to experience firsthand what thoughtful hosting looks like and how they turned complete strangers into lifelong friends.

Now I get to be on the other side.

That feels incredibly special.
My goal isn’t just to show you an amazing destination. It’s to create the kind of experience that I was once searching for.

So if you’ve been looking at our India trip—or any future trip—and you’re feeling nervous…

Tell me.

Seriously.

What’s the thing holding you back?

Is it coming alone? Money? Roommates? Being introverted? Flying internationally? Not knowing anyone?

Drop your worries in the comments or send me a message.

There’s a really good chance I had those exact same fears before my first group trip.

And if I can help make taking that first step feel a little less scary, I’d love to. Our trip to India goé live TONIGHT! First 8 people save $200!!!📸 @justinethewoods by @essential_adventures911

🎉 SIX YEARS SINCE I GOT THE YEET! 🎉🏳️‍⚧️

Six years ago, I made one of the best decisions of my life: top surgery. And honestly? I would make that decision a thousand times over. The confidence, the comfort, the freedom to finally feel at home in my body… there are no words that can fully explain what that has meant to me. 💚

Are my scars perfect? Nope. 😂 And if anyone knows a surgeon who can fix my dog ears without charging me an arm and a leg, I would love you forever! 🙋🏻‍♂️ Until then, the goal is to keep working on my chest and hopefully fill those areas out a little more. 💪🏼

But here’s the thing: I don’t need a perfect chest to be proud of the body that got me here. This body has carried me through so much, and I’m grateful every day for the steps I’ve taken to feel more like ME.

To anyone out there still dreaming about top surgery, navigating the process, or wondering if it’s too late to choose yourself: it’s not. Your journey doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s. Your timeline is yours. And you deserve to feel at home in your body. 🫶🏼

Six years post-op, and I’m still celebrating the freedom of being ME. Happy yeetiversary to me! 🎉 by @essential_adventures911

Taking guesses on how many Halloween costumes we have this year….

When Grizzly says he’s excited to post the trip on social media… by @essential_adventures911

Windows down. Coffee in hand. Long walks with nowhere to be. Sun on my skin. Taking the scenic route just because I can.

Maybe it’s not being extra. Maybe it’s self-care. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Normalize making an ordinary Thursday feel like a little love letter to your life. 🖤 by @essential_adventures911

🇩🇪 Germany with my favorite human. ❤️ @riot.risque

From wandering walkable cities and trying ALL the food to digging into history, this trip was a reminder of why we love exploring the world together.

Travel isn’t just about seeing new places. It’s about learning, growing, and experiencing life beyond our own little bubble. 🌍

And of course, we had our first Oktoberfest in Munich! 🥨🍻

Tell me, what country has stolen a piece of your heart? 👇

One of our favorite things about traveling is just wandering around and seeing what we find. No real plan, just exploring and seeing where the day takes us. And honestly, sometimes those unplanned moments end up being our favorite memories.

Things don’t have to be perfect, and you don’t have to have it all figured out. Sometimes you just have to go, explore, and see what happens. by @essential_adventures911

Find you someone who will wake up at 5am to explore and experience something before the crowds arrive…and do it all without coffee.
Now THAT is love! 💚

There’s something kinda wild about realizing that you and your partner are each other’s emergency contacts… while you’re both in the exact same emergency. 😂 Is there anyone else we can add to our list for just in casies? by @essential_adventures911

This was one of our favorite and most underrated experiences in Ireland. It was wholesome, educational, and away from the typical tourist traps! 💯 must do!
