The venue for the three-day Dafi Kühne #poster exhibition, entitled ‘The real thing’, is 12 Bride Lane, in a space to the left of St Bride’s main (road-level) entrance from 10am to 6pm.

The photographer Philip Sayer has been part of the studio team from the beginning, actually from before the beginning, as we worked together first when I was a lone freelance designer. From the Architects’ Journal to Blueprint and Domus, and now with Eye and Pulp (for Italian papermaker Fedrigoni) Philip has taken portraits of many of the world’s best architects and designers. Magazine Street is an amazing one day conference of interest to all magazine people, being held in Edinburgh on 26 September. It’s the third annual conference and tickets are available now. @hcatford is going to be talking about publishing @pitmagazineuk and @simonesterson is going to be facing his fear of fun in graphic design.

For the last two conferences, with @reddest_roar , the studio has been making a publication “Word on the Street” documenting the event. The first edition was a magazine, the second a tabloid newspaper. Photographers Phil Sayer and @alanmccredie shot the day and @ryanpetergillett drew some jokes. Chris Ferrari-Wills and @themansongroup printed with skill, speed and were totally can-do about the project. This year: same team, another different format.

Join Pureprint’s Richard Owers, Fedrigoni’s Annette Clayton, Tortoise Media’s Creative Director Jon Hill, and Eye’s Art Director Simon Esterson in an evening of informative presentations and forthright discussions about the importance of doing the sustainable thing in design and print specification. Topics include de-inking, recycling, clients, waste, paper choice, transport, ‘greenwashing’ and the circumstances in which digital design is more (or less) sustainable than print.
