When it comes to what unites us in our Alliance and why we are committed to peace, justice and inclusive societies, we are, above all, one thing: human beings. The strongest bridges are built between people. And in doing so, we discover how much we have in common in today’s Europe, and that we share and embrace the same challenges. 🤝 As a student, you too are part of EUPeace. Make the most of the many opportunities to get to know the Alliance universities and broaden your knowledge of peace, justice and inclusion – for example, through virtual mobility, physical mobility with Erasmus+, blended mobility, a summer or winter school, the EUPeace Student Challenges or through your involvement in your local EUPeace Student Club. 🛂 How is technology changing the way Europe manages migration? Identifying people at borders, processing information, sharing data between countries: more and more of it involves digital tools. But do all EU Member States use the same ones? And what happens when decisions about real people rely on data? In Part 2 of EUPeace Explains: Digital Migration, Claudio Di Maio from @unical_official looks at how technology is used in migration management across the European Union, and compares approaches between countries. 🔍 What you can discover: 🌍 What technology can do at the border ⚖️ Why data protection, transparency and accountability matter 🤝 How the analysis fed into discussions in the EUPeace Migration and Human Rights Research Hub One question to take with you: how should digital tools be used when public decisions can directly affect people's rights and opportunities? 💭 📖 Read the full story: link in bio Co-funded by the European Union. 📸 Photo credits: Geralt via pixabay.com #EUPeace #WeAreEUPeace #EuropeanUniversities #DigitalMigration #HumanRights #DataProtection #EUPeaceExplains by @eupeace_

What should Europe’s next budget invest in? 271 universities from 30 European countries have the same answer: European University Alliances like EUPeace. They have co-signed a joint statement proposed by @universitasmontium calling on the Council of the EU and the European Parliament to explicitly recognise the alliances in the EU’s 2028–2034 budget and programmes. EUPeace supports the statement as an alliance, and two of our partner universities, @philippsunimarburg and @cukurovaedutr , have signed it in their own name. ✍️ Alliances like EUPeace are what make offers such as the European Track, Student Challenges and Student-led Events possible. 🤖 Can an algorithm help someone find a job, or quietly stand in their way? Finding a job, accessing education, dealing with public authorities: more and more of it happens online. For migrants living in Europe, integration is becoming a digital process too. 🌍 In the first part of EUPeace Explains: Digital Migration, Claudio Di Maio from @unical_official asks some big questions: 💡 What do algorithms have to do with migration? 📂 When does data become evidence, and who decides how it is read? 📱 Is having access to technology the same as being able to use it? And why do these questions matter for you, whether or not migration is part of your own story? There is more to discover, more to know, more to learn. 📖 Read the full article: link in bio Co-funded by the European Union. 📸 Photo credits: Kiquebg via pixabay.com #EUPeace #WeAreEUPeace #EuropeanUniversities #EUPeaceExplains #DigitalMigration #DigitalInclusion #Algorithms by @eupeace_
