POSTS STORIES REELS

In 2023, I was interviewed by @newsworks_uk as part of their Future of News series. In this clip, I share my proudest story, which happens to be my very first published piece in @thebadgersussex 📰 by @evelynrichardswrites

Every story has a story behind it 🗞️

The finished article is only a tiny part of being a journalist. Before that come the hours of research, the conversations with interesting people, the unexpected discoveries, and the occasional rabbit hole that takes you somewhere completely different from where you started.

Whether I’m writing about beauty, fitness, travel, or anything in between, it’s often the bits that don’t make it into the final piece that I remember most.

Anyway, here’s me taking the 400th photo of something that probably didn’t need 400 photos 📸 by @evelynrichardswrites

I’ve had the pleasure of interviewing some incredible women recently - from record-breaking athletes Pip Hare, Ellie Simmonds, and Renee Noronha to beauty powerhouse Paige Louise Williams.

Each is a pioneer in her field, and it was fascinating to hear the stories, challenges, and ambitions behind her success.

I spent the other weekend doing something I never thought I’d do: weaving through more than 800 sailing boats in a @hellyhansensailing RIB at the Round The Island Race ⛵️

I’ll be honest - I knew next to nothing about sailing before I arrived. But after hours on the Solent (and finally earning my sea legs), I left with a whole new appreciation for the sport, the teamwork and the sheer skill it takes to race around the Isle of Wight.

One of the highlights was spotting Vendée Globe sailor and Helly Hansen ambassador @piphareoceanracing on the White Magic. Afterwards, I caught up with Pip to talk about resilience, ageing, breaking barriers and why women should stop waiting for permission to chase adventure.

The result was one of my favourite interviews I’ve ever written - link in bio if you’d like to read it 💙

From St Ives’ turquoise coves, artists’ studios and sea-salt air to Dartmoor’s granite tors, open moorland and untamed landscapes, a week spent hiking between them was a reminder that some of Britain’s most compelling places are still best explored on foot. by @evelynrichardswrites

Training for my first marathon has taught me a lot - not just about distance, but about ego.

Somewhere along the way, my “easy runs” stopped feeling easy. I realised I wasn’t just running hard to progress, but also to defend against potential judgement.

I wrote about Strava anxiety, #runtok pressure, influencer injuries, and not comparing yourself to curated feeds.

A massive thank you to @suedtirol.official @hopscotch_season for the most unforgettable trip to South Tyrol ahead of the Winter Olympics 2026 ❄️🥇

Grateful not only to see the region in all its wintery glory, and to meet some truly fabulous people - but also to conquer my fears and reignite my love of skiing.

I spoke to @manicoopermedia for @living360uk about the exclusion of female athletes from the Nordic combined at the Milan-Cortina Games — the last Olympic discipline to do so ⛷️

Now a coach, Mani spends her time training and motivating the next generation — even as the sport’s Olympic future remains uncertain.

“Some of the teenagers I work with will be at their peak for the 2030 Games. The younger ones for the Games after that,” she says. “There’s no point dwelling on what might not happen. You have to train as if Nordic combined will be there.”

She adds: “They need to know there’s a future.”
