🌱 Everyone’s Harvest: Cultivating Food Securtiy in Monterey County 🌱 In this two‑minute spotlight, discover how Everyone’s Harvest—founded in 2002—has become a county‑wide force for equitable food access Operating six certified farmers markets across Salinas, Marina, Pacific Grove, Seaside, and hospital sites at Natividad and Salinas Valley Health, the nonprofit serves over 2,500 families weekly with produce from more than 25 small and mid‑scale farms, over half of which are certified organic Through programs like Fresh Rx—where healthcare providers ‘prescribe’ locally grown fruits and veggies—Market Match/SNAP Double Up, Edible Education cooking demos, and the new Farms Together produce‑box initiative, Everyone’s Harvest champions a “Food is Medicine” approach to bolster health, nutrition, and community resilience. Everyone’s Harvest Statement on Community Safety and Farmers Market Operations As of 8pm on October 27th, Everyone’s Harvest intends to keep our farmers market open at Natividad Medical Center on Wednesday, October 28th. The Everyone’s Harvest Board of Directors is deeply concerned about the impact of the current Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activity on the safety, well-being, and sense of security of our community. As an organization committed to food access, local agriculture, and community health, we believe farmers markets should be welcoming spaces where everyone can access fresh, nutritious food and where farmers and vendors can earn a livelihood without fear. We stand in solidarity with the members of our community who are experiencing uncertainty, fear, and disruption during this time. Our intention is to continue operating our farmers markets while closely monitoring the evolving situation. However, the safety of our community members, farmers, vendors, volunteers, and staff must remain our priority. If ICE activity or other credible safety concerns arise that could put people at risk, we will reassess operations and close the market when necessary. We recognize that each farmer and vendor faces different circumstances and may have different concerns about participating. We are committed to respecting those individual decisions and will provide farmers and vendors with the option to participate or step away based on their own assessment of their safety and circumstances, without pressure or judgment. We understand that decisions about market operations have real consequences for our local farmers and vendors and for community members who rely on these markets for fresh food. We will continue to evaluate conditions, communicate with our partners, and make thoughtful decisions that balance our commitment to food access with our responsibility to protect the people we serve. by @everyonesharvest

Thank you to the generous sponsors, superb chefs, generous silent auction donors, and enthusiastic attendees at Everyone's Harvest's Field to Market Fundraiser in collaboration with Kimpton Mirador in Pacific Grove. The event successfully raised funds for our community food programs! Participants supported our mission to bring fresh, healthy food to our local communities while enjoying tastings created by local chefs and bidding on enticing items at our Silent Auction in Kimpton Mirador's Caledonian courtyard.
