1 year of marriage and 5 years together down, and I can’t wait for everything still ahead of us. This past year took us places we never imagined—Japan, Bordeaux, Duke’s ER (3 times 😒). First MBA in the family. ✨

Two years that passed like a blur — full-time job, brain tumor diagnosis, surgery, recovery, and a graduation stage two months later. I wouldn’t have had it any other way, in any other place.

As my friend @holdthemayonez said, “God needed me to be here.” That He did.

And I’m grateful that I got to do it alongside Paige, Janelle & Tiffany — homies from day one. (See slide 5, for half of the Coalition of Freedom Fighters aka the Black Women in Section 1 Groupchat). What a blessing. ❤️.

Back in Durham after 12 days helping my favorite people settle into their new home. Honestly, I am so proud of them and feel lucky that Hilda, Dasia and I were able to help them do that. It was also a hella restorative trip for me personally. So much love and time with the people who raised the people who raised me.

After last May (engagement, D’s grad, D’s bday and our engagement party) I would not have believed it if you told me it was possible for there to be a more absurd May. And while we aren’t yet done I’m ready to marvel at the past few weeks we’ve had:
