Last year, we made a film that became a communal space for important conversations and building relationships for a much-larger topic: our senses to the endless cycle of destructive capitalism and industrialization.

Pangakuyad ning Pamanamdaman (Decline of Senses) will screen on September 11-23 in all Cinematheque centers nationwide: Manila, Iloilo, Davao, and Negros.

We are heading to Cannes 2026!

Filmmaker EJ Gagui, director of The Birds Knew Our Language, was recently selected as one of the filmmakers in the Film Talent Academy Program of the Linz International Short Film Festival.

He will advance to Phase 2 of the program and present the project at the Cannes Film Festival 2026, where he will pitch The Birds Knew Our Language to international co-producers.

We are proud to see this story take flight on the global stage. by @exiprod

EJ Gagui’s most recent in-development short, Antindyan daka ta reng ayup (The Birds Knew Our Language), has been selected to participate in this year’s Script Pitch at Interfilm 41 International Short Film Festival in Germany. Chosen as one of only eight projects from over 300 submissions worldwide, this marks an important milestone for the film’s development.

Kinoise would like to thank Techtales and Engagemedia, Project Kaluguran, Kino Kolekta, and Eximious Produkt for the opportunity to bring the team to Pampanga and hold a short filmmaking workshop.
