The day has come, 15 books in 15 weeks! My “big book run” for First Appearance Friday is coming to an end. I’ve been sitting on this book since May, so here it is Amazing Spider-Man 1 CGC 1.8 - Blue Label Off-White to White Pages

This book wouldn’t even be in my PC if it wasn’t for @shortboxed. Thank you @shortboxed for having such a safe and reliable business. My trust in you has grown exponentially.

I had to role out the red carpet for this grail book. It’s the 1st appearance of J. Jonah Jameson and The Chameleon. 1st Fantastic Four crossover and the 2nd appearance of Spider-Man.

Published:
March 01, 1963
* Writer:
Stan Lee
* Penciler:
Sol Brodsky, Steve Ditko

The FIRST issue of Amazing Spider-Man! The amazing Spider-Man swings into his very first starring series, fresh off of his debut in the pages of Amazing Fantasy #15. In one of his earliest adventures following Uncle Ben's death, Spider-Man must save a crew of astronauts aboard a malfunctioning space ship! Then, Spider-Man tries to join the Fantastic Four and then runs afoul of the Chameleon!

Hope everyone has a great day! Take care of one another and stay positive. If someone needs help, do your best to help them. We took advantage of Nevada Day and the kiddos being off school. We hit up the Bellagio, Museum of Illusion, and Rainforest Cafe. What a great day! by @expedition_comics

Oh man, it’s been a minute but I’m back. Had to take a break from the old IG for a bit. Focused on my family, my faith, and did some traveling… all is good.

But enough about me… today’s post is a pretty awesome trade paperback (digital format) that is sure to please any Batman or Bat-Family fan.

It’s another #comicsfromthecar with Batman: Night of the Owls

As evil spreads across Gotham City, Batman’s allies, including Red Robin, Batwing, Robin, Batgirl, the Birds of Prey, Nightwing and even Catwoman find themselves in a battle coming from all sides. The Court of Owls have shown their hand, and it’s up to the collective effort of these heroes, some more unlikely than others, in this sprawling tale of corruption and violence.

This epic springs from the pen of Scott Snyder, New York Times bestselling author of Batman: The Black Mirror and American Vampire, as well as creators Judd Winick, David Finch, Peter J. Tomasi, Pat Gleason, Tony Daniel, Scott Lobdell, Duane Swierczynski, JH Williams III, Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray!

This volume collects the following issues: Batman #8-11, Nightwing #8-9, AllStar Western #9, Catwoman #9, Batgirl #9, Batman: Dark Knight #9, Batmanand Robin #9, Birds of Prey #9, Red Hood and the Outlaws #9.

Hope everyone is doing well. Take care of yourself… get that head, heart and soul right.

Also, Jeb is back in town to see Lois Lane in the wake of Clark Kent’s disappearance. Continued in SUPERMAN (1987-2006) #78.

Steel is a superhero appearing in comic books published by DC Comics. He is a genius engineer who built a mechanized suit of armor that mirrors Superman’s powers, and initially sought to replace him after he was killed by Doomsday. After Superman was resurrected, he accepted Steel as an ally. His real name is John Henry Irons and he wields a sledgehammer—this is a reference to the mythical railroad worker John Henry. He has a niece named Natasha Irons who is also a superhero in a similar mechanized suit of armour.

Good Friday to you all! I hope you have enjoyed your week and are all set for the weekend. I was flipping through my books this morning and came across a book and character o really enjoy. Today’s book is the first solo series of the Black Knight, Dane Whitman.

Black Knight 1

“THE REBIRTH OF THE BLACK KNIGHT”

WRITER(S): Roy Thomas & Dann Thomas

PENCILER(S): Tony DeZuniga

INKER(S): Tony DeZuniga

COLORIST(S): Al Ramirez

LETTERER(S): Bill Oakley

At last, the beginning of the resolution of the final fate of the Black Knight and the legendary Ebony Blade can be told! The spirit of the first Black Knight must save the soul of the Avengers’ Black Knight from two of his greatest enemies, Mordred, the half-brother of King Arthur, and the witch Morgan Le Fay!

Dane Whitman, known as the Black Knight, embodies a legacy steeped in honor, chivalry, and a complex relationship with a cursed legacy. Stemming from a long line of knights, Dane grapples with the burden of a dark family history intertwined with the mystical Ebony Blade, a weapon passed down through generations. He is a descendant of Sir Percy of Scandia, Dane took on the mantle of the Black Knight to redeem his family’s name tainted by his villainous uncle, Nathan Garrett. As the Black Knight Dane relied on his intellect, combat skills, and the mystical powers of the Ebony Blade to battle evil and safeguard the world.

Hope you all have a great weekend. Take care and Be a Hero to Someone!

85 years of this iconic character and the popularity continues to go. From my childhood to adulthood to my kids childhood, Batman is a staple in this household. Batman’s tragic origin story, in which a mugger guns down Bruce Wayne’s parents as the family walks home from a movie, was introduced six months after the hero’s debut, in Detective Comics #33 (November 1939). This seemingly simple origin would continue to be explored and mined for emotional depth for decades to come.

Bob Kane and Bill Finger co-created Batman and many early related characters for DC Comics. Batman first appeared in the 27th issue of Detective Comics on March 30, 1939.
