When stories came alive….

Now that all the dust has settled, the ghosts and gouls have disappeared for another year, the pumpkin pies have been eaten, and the frights have all been had. Thank you all for visiting Fingal, Home of Halloween this October, and to all of the local businesses who helped promote the Fingal Home of Halloween events with us, thanks you for collaborating. We hope you enjoyed all that you discovered and more…

🇲🇽🇮🇪 More than 4,000 people joined the Mexican community in Swords Castle today for Dia de los Muertos, Mexico’s ‘Day of the Dead’ festival. Highlights included the ‘Ofrenda’ (an altar decorated for spirits of deceased family members and friends), beautiful traditional dress, and the best taco I’ve ever tasted.

Thanks to Fingal County Council, Dublin’s Mexican community, the Embassy of Mexico, and so many locals who made today’s event such a success. by @explorefingal

to mark oíche shamhna (irish for halloween), and the turning of the year in celtic tradition, we spent the evening at 850-year-old @howthcastle for a little storytelling and song with @hooksandreels.

last night was a lovely reminder of the magic happening right on our doorstep, and that you’re never too young or too old to try something new, share your stories and explore your own creativity. by @explorefingal

🔥 Feast, Fire and the Spirit of Samhain at Howth Castle

As we welcome November, we’re looking back at a spectacular Samhain celebration at the historic Howth Castle, where ancient traditions came alive through fire, music, food and storytelling.

From mesmerising fire performances to the sounds of Hooks & Reels and a Samhain feast by the cookery school, it was an unforgettable celebration of Ireland’s rich heritage and the traditions that make this time of year so special.

With Hooks & Reels and Howth Castle.

✨ Part of Fingal’s Ireland Home of Halloween programme.

🎥 Take a look at some of the highlights from Howth Castle last night.
