Abhyanga, in Ayurveda, is the sacred ritual of oiling the body with herbal or medicated oils.

This is done to calm the nervous system and balance the doshas (energetic forces of the body and mind)

For me, it’s more than just self-care. It’s ancestral memory - something my mother did with her siblings growing up.

She used to oil us as kids, every Sunday. It was her way of caring, bonding, and passing on something older than words.

I didn’t understand it then. And like most teens, I rebelled and let it go.

Years later, it returned.

Quietly.

Lovingly.

And now, it mothers me, while I mother my child. A ritual once forgotten… is now reborn.

ESP:

Y ahora, me materna - mientras yo materno a mi hijo.
Un ritual que fue olvidado… hoy renace.

I talk a lot about oiling… but not so much about when to adjust it.

You come with nothing.
You go back with nothing.

And in between, Devi gives you this whole human experience to live, love, savour and be grateful for. 💜

💜 by @exploring.mama.gaia

You are more than enough as you are. There’s room for all of us 🤍

May be this was taught in the physics class and I was busy getting distracted. by @exploring.mama.gaia

1. I’ve been married twice, and had a few failed relationships. For a long time, I felt too complicated to deserve love. I’ve learned to love myself, and that changed the standard for the love I allow into my life.

2. After years of hyper-independence and “trust no one but yourself,” I struggle with receiving support. Sometimes accepting help makes me feel like I’m losing control.

3. I started a business I was deeply passionate about 3 years ago and went all in.
I thought I’d hit my goal within 2 years. I didn’t. I sometimes question if I even want the same direction anymore. I’ve realised we sometimes keep things going to maintain an identity we’ve created, and I don’t owe anyone a permanent version of me.

4. I get extremely passionate about several projects at once… and don’t always see them through.
Hang drum. Harmonium. Art. Digital courses. The list goes on. I’m getting better at recognising and rewriting this pattern.

5. I can look like a social butterfly, but in reality, I have VERY FEW friends. I’ve always been a “hit the nail on the head” kind of person. It’s kept the real ones around, but it’s also hurt people. I’ve learned honesty doesn’t have to be brutal.

6. I’ve practised several spiritual traditions for over 12 years, yet still feel I need more wisdom before I can teach.
I know this is partly a façade I hide behind, but I still get trapped in: “Please, I don’t want to become another neo-spiritual teacher.”

7. I’ve worked in marketing, sales and strategy for over a decade, including senior executive roles. Yet I struggle to make my own knowledge “sellable.” Is what I know even enough? Then I see others teaching things I’ve always considered obvious and think… is this really something people need to be taught?

8. Even though I’m confident and capable, I still struggle with “Will they take me seriously?” when I design my own offering.

9. I no longer want to ascend.
I want to descend, into my body.
Stay in the timeline I’m actually in and fully accept it. Move through whatever frequency I embody now ~ dense or light.

I find that true enlightenment is in the HERE and NOW.

I don’t know how. I don’t know why. But this is my one true reality.

Golden milk sounds fancy, but at home we just called it mañjal pāl — simple turmeric milk with spices.
I’ve been sick, so this warm cup with @paloma_tropical ‘s @tlalli.tea blend has been pure comfort.
Turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, cardamom and more…
all these spices coming together to mother you when you need it most.

Yesterday I attended Day 1 of a masterclass called The Inner Shift by @jennydinovi

Most of the concepts weren’t new to me. In fact, much of it is work I’ve been doing for years.

Sometimes we don’t need a new lesson.
We need a reminder.

A reminder that we are no longer the version of ourselves that created certain fears, patterns, and coping mechanisms.

These are some of the questions I’m sitting with today.

Perhaps one of them is for you too. 🤍

_____

What’s your biggest fear when it comes to moving forward? by @exploring.mama.gaia

Yesterday’s thoughts while resetting the altar.

“A lamp that isn’t covered in soot is probably a lamp that has never been lit.”

A little cliché… but maybe true.

I wash my lamps every Friday. They always look clean, but every now and then I notice the soot that’s quietly gathered in the tiny corners. The kind you only see when you slow down.

It made me wonder if we’re any different.

What if the goal isn’t to stay spotless?

What if the goal is simply to notice when it’s time for a deeper clean?
—————————

Sometimes life asks us to build.
And some other times, it asks us to dissolve.

I’ve spent the last few years doing a surprising amount of both.

Maybe this season of my life is simply about building, serving and receiving from a much more grounded place within myself.

And allowing life to meet me there ✨

—————————
