My Yoruba ancestors brought AKARA with them centuries ago from the motherland to Bahia.
The taste remains the same, the name the same -ACARAJE - meaning (eat akara) and it's been massively pimped up with vegetables and shrimp. 🇧🇷🇳🇬

Teslim Balogun Stadium Surulere Lagos takes centre stage, surrounded by the sprawling urban landscape of Surulere and the ever-expanding city beyond, from different angles.
This is Lagos. Beautiful, complex and constantly evolving ♥️🇳🇬💯

A LOT OF PEOPLE FOUND MY CRAFT INTERESTING,
AND HONESTLY, THAT MEANS A LOT. ❤️

From the conversations to the curiosity,
the questions and the appreciation,
it was beautiful seeing people connect with what I do.

Every creative expression has a story, and having people take a moment to appreciate mine is something I don't take for granted.

Still learning. Still creating. Still pushing boundaries.

All praise and gratitude belong to Allah.

Lagos Then & Now: CBAAC, Broad Street 🇳🇬
c1945 - 2026
Once a British colonial government secretariat, today home to the Centre for Black and African Arts and Civilization (CBAAC).
Everything FESTAC 77 stored there. It's a museum you can actually visit.

81 years apart. The building remains, carrying layers of Lagos history.

Then: Three Lions Photo
Now: Bolaji Alonge

Same place. Different Lagos.

I attended the ongoing Abuja International Photo Festival (AIPF26), a gathering of photographers and visual storytellers from around the world.

It was good to see friends, alongside many other photographers bringing their perspectives, experiences and creative practices to Abuja.

Photography has a way of connecting people across borders and cultures. We may come from different places and tell different stories, but there is always something to learn from how others see the world. 📸🇳🇬
