Food is love, right? When my darling boy comes home from college, I make him his favorite things, like ramen and Hawaiian chef mix. The iced gingerbread oatmeal cookies are a bonus. #ramen #chexmix #gingerbreadcookies by @fablefarmfresh

How’s the garden doing, you ask? Not so great. A few days ago a tree fell on the garden, taking everything down with it. It’s tough, when I think about how I started those plants from seeds back in February, although I’m thankful neither me or the dog was in the area at the time. I am trying to salvage some plants with the bent cages and now it looks like some creepy John Waters-style garden.

How’s the garden doing? Great, thanks for asking. I grew everything this year from seed except one padron pepper plant. For most of the tomatoes, I used a technique I saw online (along with the arch). I got an organic heirloom tomato from my local grocery @walterstewartsmarket and sliced it thin, then laid the slices in dirt and covered slightly with dirt. Kept transplanting them as they grew. Seems to be working! Also yellow cherries and San Marzanos because no such thing as too many tomatoes. Everything is loving the hot humid weather and random thunderstorms, because the #squash #cucumbers #peppers and a some rogue #zinnias look very happy.
