📢 WE TELL OUR HISTORY: Understanding the Texas SBOE

Our history belongs to all of us, and it’s every single one of our responsibility to protect it. Right now, major changes are being planned for Texas schools, including adding mandatory lessons on the Ten Commandments while cutting out key parts of our Islamic history.

True change starts with us. The real power is in the hands of the Muslim vote. When we show up at the polls, we protect our children’s education and make sure our voices are heard.

Join us for a community gathering and discussion with Ustadha Sophia Khan to learn how the Texas State Board of Education (SBOE) impacts our kids, what changes are coming, and which board members are up for re-election.

Date: Friday, October 2, 2026🕕 Time: 6:00 PM

Represented by our MAS Brooklyn Executive Director, MAS NY, MAS Brooklyn & MAS Youth Center met with Mayor Mamdani and his team in a productive meeting to advocate for the needs of the Muslim community, especially our youth.

We discussed pressing issues such as protected Dhuhr & Jumuah times and spaces in public schools so Muslim students can freely practice their religion, addressing the repression of pro-Palestinian speech and SJPs on campus, more accessible youth recreational third spaces around the city, and the disbanding of SRJ unit of NYPD who have brutally attacked our youth & allies on the streets while protesting for justice.

We’re looking forward to next steps from the Mamdani administration on their plans to address such issues and uplift all our communities! by @faithpoweralliance

Thank you to all who came out to the People's Picnic!!!

Thank you to all the volunteers and organizations that came together to help out the community.

Even with all the trouble the City of Dallas has caused it is so nice to know that we can all still come together and help those that need it.

More details to come on July 15th distro and other updates. #allpowertothepeople #wegotus
