Here is a glimpse into my creative process 😊

I usually start with a very thin layer of acrylic inks. Pushing the ink around on the canvas, in the beginning, helps me built the composition. I just love the transparency and the different patterns left on the canvas after this stage.

After that first layer, I usually take out my brushed and start applying more opaque paints. This part can take anywhere from a few hours to a few weeks. 😂 !

Hope you enjoy this little video 😎

This painting is now available on my website.

I always loved this little one … Lucious colours 🤩 one of the first tries I did with acrylic on wood. It does not feel the same as a canvas … the surface does not absorb the paint as much and you get to see the brush strokes better.

I surely do not paint to get awards but it sure feels good to be recognized for all the heart and soul we put into our work☺️.

For the first time today I won first place 🥇 in a Juried art show in the Abstract Category ! I was overwhelmed with emotions 🥹 …
I am amazed, and very grateful, for the art path travelled so far.

I want to say a special thanks to @terri_froelich_art and @susanmelrath ! Something clicked, in my work, after I did « the colour cure » with you in Mallorca… not sure precisely what but I know your teachings has influenced my work gravely. Thank you for helping artist find their voice 🫶🧡

🫶🧡 by @fanniedion_art

I am back with this geometric piece that has been hanging in my studio for weeks … I wasn’t sure if it was finished so I left it there for quite a while 😆 I guess it grew on me …

A month ago, I had the idea of sending a little gift to another artist from Western Canada who has always supported and encouraged me on social media. She’s been commenting on my posts and cheering me on for several years now.

And then I thought… why not send her a little something to say thank you? So I mailed her a small artwork from my collection.

Today, she returned the gesture by sending me some of her own creations. 🧡

Why don’t we start a movement to thank the people who support us in the virtual world, but whom we may never actually get the chance to meet?

I think it’s such a beautiful idea!

Saying thank you through art… why not?

Sending something real and tangible makes the thank-you feel real. It takes us out of the virtual world for a moment and brings us back to something more human.

Getting back to human connections feels so good. 😌

Back in the studio today for the first time in a long time ….
I wonder if I remember how to do this !! 😆
I had to stretch a few canvases and decided to go with a fresh pallet.

The creative part did not do as easy as I thought , but I guess I’m a bit rusty …

It’s always nice to see our artwork in their new homes ☺️💛 by @fanniedion_art

This intriguing piece found a new home last weekend at @symposiumbromontenart !

I created this piece two years ago while going through something very personal… I have been wanting to explore abstract portraits for a while, but I kept convincing myself otherwise.
I guess I wasn’t fully ready …

Funny how the things we most resist are probably the ones we should dive into. I am planning on exploring more of this in the next few months. Stay tuned !

I participated in 2 Art fairs this summer and both ended in the pouring rain ☔️🤣
I love these events but man … the logistics can be overwhelming ! At least the sun is out today in Montreal.

Now time to clean and dry everything before storing everything until next time ☺️ by @fanniedion_art
