Why don't I feel like myself?

It is the question I hear most, and almost nobody gets a real answer to it.

Tomorrow I am answering it properly.

Sunday 18 October, World Menopause Day. 75 minutes live on what perimenopause actually does to your body. What to change about your food, your training, your sleep and your hydration. Libido, which nobody will discuss with you. The blood tests to ask for and what each one tells you. Hormone therapy, the types, and the honest safety picture.

Then a full Q and A. Nothing off limits.

8pm Dubai, 5pm UK, 12pm Eastern
$26, around AED 95
Cannot make it live? Everyone gets the replay for 7 days

“Why is this happening to my body?”

It’s the most common question I hear from menopausal and perimenopausal women.

And for over a decade, I’ve been answering it, not with fluff or guesswork, but with a proven, sustainable method.

Inside The Meno-Fit Fat Loss Method™, we’ve helped women regain control, confidence, and clarity in three key areas:

💭 1. Mentality
Understanding what’s happening to your hormones (yes, the big three: oestrogen, progesterone, and testosterone), and what to do about them, is step one.

No more confusion. Just clarity.

🏠 2. Microcosm
This pillar helps you reclaim your relationships, at home, at work, as a parent, as a partner.

Because menopause doesn’t just affect your body.

It shifts your whole environment. We teach you how to take control of it.

🔥 3. Methodology
The stubborn body fat that’s crept on?

We’ll help you lose it in a sustainable way, without sacrificing your energy, your family time, or your career.

This isn’t another quick fix. It’s a strategic, science-backed approach to peak performance in midlife.

I created this because I’ve lived it.

And now, it’s your turn to thrive through menopause, not just survive it.

In the next few posts, I’ll break down each pillar so you can start applying it to your life.

Stay tuned. Save this. Share with a friend who’s silently struggling.

And remember, you’re not broken.

You just haven’t been shown the way yet.

If you resonate and would like some help, comment, ’READY’ below and I will personally reach out to you.

I tried everything.

🍽 Eat less, move more.
🥣 Two bowls of cereal and one “proper” meal.
🏃‍♀️ Running endlessly on empty.
☕️ Tea diets that sent me running, to the loo.
😩 And still… the belly fat clung on.

I was starving, exhausted, injured, overwhelmed… and no closer to fitting back into the wardrobe of clothes I once loved.

Nobody told me this creeping weight gain was linked to changing hormones.

Nobody warned me that the old tricks wouldn’t work in menopause.

And certainly, no one told me that all that cardio could make it worse.

The truth?
💥 “Eat less, move more” is BS for midlife women.
💥 Excess cardio raises cortisol, the stress hormone that stores belly fat.
💥 Running yourself into the ground doesn’t shift weight. It burns you out.

So I created the Meno-Fit Fat Loss Method™.

A plan that finally worked.

Because it was made for women like us.
✅ A way of eating and drinking that’s sustainable, at home, on holiday, or in work chaos.
✅ No running, no punishing workouts, just smart strength training to preserve muscle and boost metabolism.
✅ And the most underrated fat loss tool for midlife: SLEEP and Recovery.

(Yes, I said it. Netflix till 1 am was killing my results.)

This method gave me my life, and my body, back.

And remember, you’re not lazy.

You’ve just been given the wrong advice.

If my story resonate and you would like some help, comment, ‘READY’ below and I will personally reach out to you.

Three things we fixed before we touched her food

She wasn't short on discipline.

She was short on sleep, and no plan works on four hours.

We fixed the nights first, and the rest followed.

“I am stronger than I have been for decades. Constantly checking in does form habits.”

You're not hungrier at night, you're just distracted.

I notice it in my own house. Table meals? I leave food on my plate because I'm satisfied. TV meals? I'm back in the kitchen within the hour looking for more.

It's not about willpower. When we eat while distracted, our brain doesn't register satiety the same way. The signals that tell us "you've had enough" get drowned out by what's happening on screen.

This matters even more during perimenopause when ghrelin and leptin, our hunger hormones, are already shifting. Mindful eating isn't about perfection. It's about giving your body the chance to actually communicate with you.

Save this for later.

You're not eating too much. You're just not actually eating.

Here's what I mean: if you wolfed down lunch yesterday standing at the counter, scrolling through your phone, or answering emails, your body didn't register that meal. Your brain never got the signal that you're satisfied.

This is one of the biggest hidden blocks to fat loss in perimenopause and menopause. Not what you're eating, but how disconnected you are while eating it.

The good news? Slowing down and actually tasting your food, what we call mindful eating, can shift your metabolism without cutting a single thing from your plate. Your body finally gets to recognise nourishment. Cortisol drops. Digestion improves. And yes, fat loss becomes possible again.

Save this for later.

You're not overreacting. Your nervous system has actually changed.

That thing your partner has always done, talking through TV shows, leaving cabinets open, chewing loudly, suddenly feels unbearable. And you wonder: am I losing my mind?

No. During perimenopause and menopause, declining oestrogen affects your GABA receptors, the brain's natural calming system. Your stress threshold drops. Your sensory filtering changes. Things you once tuned out now feel like nails on a chalkboard.

It's not about willpower or patience. It's neurobiology. And understanding that is the first step to managing it without shame or guilt.

You're not eating too much. You're eating too fast.

If you're battling constant bloating in perimenopause, the problem might not be what's on your plate, it's how quickly it's getting there.

When you inhale your food, you're sending chunks down that your gut simply can't break down efficiently. And here's what makes it worse in menopause: your digestive enzymes and oestrogen levels are dropping, so your ability to digest is already compromised.

Big pieces of food sit there like rocks, causing bloating. Plus, when you eat fast, your brain never registers satisfaction, so you're left hungry and reaching for more.

Slow it down. Chew properly. Put the fork down between bites. Make the mind-gut connection. You'll feel more satisfied, crave less, and finally reduce that stubborn bloating.

Save this for later when you need the reminder.

You're eating healthy food but still not losing weight. Here's why.

One of my clients was doing everything right, choosing whole foods, skipping the sweets, eating well-balanced meals. But she wasn't seeing results.

I asked her to do one simple thing: take a picture of everything that went into her mouth for one week. Every single thing. That week, she lost six pounds.

What changed? She became aware of the mindless eating. The handful of blueberries from the fridge. The few bites here and there between meals. All healthy foods, but they were adding up without her realising it.

During perimenopause, our metabolism shifts. We don't have the same margin for mindless extras we once did. It's not about restriction, it's about awareness. Even healthy food has calories, and those unconscious handfuls matter more now than they used to.

You're not eating too much. You're eating too fast.

If you're dealing with bloating that won't quit, the problem might not be what's on your plate, it's how quickly it's getting into your body.

When you inhale your food, your gut has to work overtime. The enzymes, the bile, the whole digestive cascade goes into stress mode trying to break down food you didn't chew properly. That steak you swallowed in three bites? It's sitting in your gut like a rock.

Here's the habit that changes everything: one bite, put the utensil down, chew completely, then reach for the next bite. It sounds simple because it is. But done consistently, three meals a day, every day, it's one of the foundational habits of women who feel lean and light in their bodies.

Your mouth has a job to do. Let it do the work so your gut doesn't have to.

Save this if you need the reminder.

The 'healthy' snacks you're eating might be stalling your progress.

Granola bars? Pure sugar pressed into convenient bars with honey or syrup. Flavoured yogurts? They strip the fat and load in sugar to make them palatable. Rice cakes? So light and airy you'll eat the entire sleeve before you feel satisfied.

These marketed 'diet foods' are often carb and sugar bombs disguised as health options. They spike your blood sugar, leave you hungry an hour later, and work against fat loss, especially during perimenopause when our bodies are already more insulin resistant.

If you do choose rice cakes or crackers, use them as a base for protein: a bit of smoked fish, some lemon juice, or quality cheese. Turn them into an actual snack that supports your body instead of sabotaging it.

Save this for later when you're meal planning.

Saying no in menopause isn't rude. It's revolutionary.

Ten years ago, I would've squeezed you in at 8:30 am. I would've bent over backwards, rearranged everything, and made it work no matter the cost to my own well-being.

But menopause changes something fundamental. When your body is going through this massive transition and you're working so hard to support it, you stop apologising for having boundaries. You honour what you've already committed to, including commitments to yourself.

Here's the shift: you increasingly stop caring what people think when you say no. And that doesn't make you selfish. It makes you strong. It builds genuine confidence, the kind that comes from finally putting your body first.
